When do you think technology will be such that we can have a live action superheroe TV show that is done the right way... (and by that I mean the right way like X-2 and Spiderman movies)? Well-written, and not cheesy looking.

I haven't followed the Blade series, but the previews looked pretty cheesy. The previews for Aquaman looked cheesy as all he!!.

It took them forever to get the comic to movie conversion right (we all remember early 90's captain america and Dolph Lundgren as Punisher) When will they start to ge the comic to TV conversion right?

"Smallville" is good. I mean what kind of nihilistic/atheist a-hole are you?

I actually think Blade looks good. The Flash was great. The only reason it failed was because of the cost to make each episode and the fact that CBS kept throwing it all over the schedule.

I admit that Smallville is good, but I don't view it as a classic comic book show in my opinion... more like a different angle on a comic universe - plus I'm more of a Marvel fan.

I loved The Flash when I was a kid, but the reality is that it is pretty freaking budget looking especially by today's standards.

I want something with high production values - CSI or 24-type treatment for a comic book.

Yeah, "DA" was a good example of a superhero-ish tv show*. Too bad it got canned so early.

*That, and hey, Jessica Alba every week. You couldn't go wrong.

Comic to movie is pretty hard that and fanboys hate it when you change the littlest thing. That and sometime certain comic books don't work outside that format. But I think Runaways would be a really cool show. Of corse if BKV got to write it.

You'll never see a big time, live action, superhero TV series done right, the budget will always excede the ad dollars required to make the show profitable.

First of Sci-Fi, does a good job with "Battlestar Gallatica", so it not that inconceivable to make a supehero based TV show on that network.

Second, I bet HBO can if they find a producer willing to do such a show.

Third, Showtime is also a subscription-revenue channel that afford to take risks since you would be purchasing the whole for the one theoretical show.

Finally, ad dollars still are important to television, but thanks to "Family Guy", "24", "Alias", and "Lost", DVD sales have become the most important part of the equation. Thus a TV serial with high production is not that inconceivable because all it needs to do is have a cult following that would buy the show's DVDs.

the punisher would make a good tv show.

and i still think the incredible hulk was done amazingly.

they should make a Nextwave tv show...and animated series...and breakfast cereal...and official colonoscopy kit...and muffler...and hell, just slap the Nextwave logo on everything, and there's no way it could be bad :o
