I doubt Yondu went to Earth. So I'm guessing that means another Terran out in space. Zunes were made from 2006 - 2008. So they would've left Earth during that time and more likely closer to 2006 because of the iPod taking over the industry before they stopped selling Zunes in 2008.

Think we'll meet the original Owner?

No. It was just a fun gag. Made me laugh. I still own operating Zunes for when I go to the gym.

didn't say something along the line of finding it in an old trash barge

I think its simple: aliens periodically stop by Earth to buy stuff, because genuine merchandise from primitive worlds is in demand in interstellar society.

Peter had a tape player on his ship in the first movie. He obviously didn't get that from home. He had to acquire that part somewhere along the line.

All of which begs the questions: how often are aliens visiting Earth in the MCU? Or how many people have been taken from Earth at this point?

I get that the Zune was found on a junker, but it got from Earth to the farthest reaches of the galaxy before someone junked it.

So far the only Terrans we know residing off planet are Banner, Peter, and Cosmo.

Technically Rocket at one point is Terran. Drax even said they transported some racoons

I thought Drax said they had those creatures on his world and they ate them over campfires. . . .

Agent's Of Shield has had the Kree and Asgardians pop up on Earth a couple times. The Ravangers, Ego and others have visited Earth.

I think Aliens probably visit MCU Earth more than we know. We will probably find out some Skrulls and Kree are hiding out on Earth in Captain Marvel.

It seems aliens visit Earth quite a bit without anyone knowing at all.

Stan Lee seems to frequent other planets....maybe one time he brought one with him.

Remember, various reasonably informed people in galactic society *have* heard about Earth. Earth isn't a complete unknown in a remote corner of space, its just not part of galactic society. Implicitly, because Asgard considers it part of their own territory, and nobody wants to piss off the Viking Gods. Thus, people who care about either notable primitive worlds, or Asgardian turf, know about Earth, which makes Real Genuine Midgard Artifacts valuable for collectors.

What is a Zune? That was the first time I heard of them in this movie. Are people listening to them on Earth?

Is that the newest fad? Is it replacing iPods? Or is it like the mini disc of the late 90s, which is just a passing phase and might become obsolete?

No, its the opposite. Its a Sony-brand MP3 player that's been out of production for like a decade, because it got clobbered by the iPod.

So they still gave him a relic at the end which uses out of date technology? They could've given him a mini disc then.

It was actually Microsoft's supposed answer to the iPod that was days late and a few dollars short.

There's probably plenty of reasons to go with the Zune though. The thing only came out a little over 10 years ago. So it is hardly a lost technology. People should at least know what an MP3 player is. It is familiar, but still leaves Star Lord behind on the musical technology side of things.

Plus the shock value for Star Lord is more impressive going to an mp3 player like the Zune. Instead of something that can hold 20ish or so songs, he has something that can hold in the hundreds. A minidisc would be surprising, but this is just mind-blowing.
