Iron Man Where does it stack up?

Ok, I don't get that last bit. Why did there have to be more blood? We know he was shot, I thought it was pretty touching.

More blood? Try any blood, cause there was none in that scene. And my problem was not just with that scene but also the ambush and the latter scene where the terrorists are attacking Yinsen's home town. I can understand why they kept it out but a little bit would've been appreciated. I'm not a child, I understand that when people get shot they bleed. Just some consequences of the violence in the vein of Saving Private Ryan would've been real nice and would've helped to ratchet up the dramatic tension. I still love the movie though. Best superhero movie ever for me by miles.

I have three top favorite superhero movies, and it really depends one what type of mood I am in to decide which I like the best. But they're Superman: The Movie, Spiderman 1, and now Iron Man. It's weird because with Superman and Spiderman, I know a lot about their backgrounds and grew up with those comics. Like for Spiderman, I already knew what to compare it to. But I never read any Iron Man or seen the comics and it was still able to not just bloe me away, but fight for the top ranking super-flick in my book. Now things have changed a bit. I can't get enough Iron Man comics! lol

best Marvel film to date hands down

no corny ass villains,no doomsday machines

1.)TIE between Batman Begins and Iron Man
2.)Spider-Man 2
3.)Superman:The Movie
4.)X2
5.)Spider-Man

Just got out of the movie. Like most people I wasn't the biggest Iron Man fan, always liked him but wouldn't have said fan. Now... I'm a bit of fan. Movie was great, I can't rank it specifically yet but in my top five superhero movies for sure. The after credits scene alone is worth going to see it again!

On par with X-Men 2 and Superman, right behind Spider-Man 2 and Batman Begins I guess.

On my list it's close between Iron Man and Batman Begins, but I give Iron man the edge, it has all your looking for in a superhero film, action, comedy and drama. the acting was outstanding and it's a film that you can enjoy multiple times.
#1 Iron man
#2 Batman Begin's
#3 Spider man 2
#4 Blade 2
#5 X-Men 2

1-Batman Begins

2-Superman The Movie

3-Iron Man

4-Batman '89

5-Batman Returns (X2 is just as good if not better, I just find X-Men mostly boring)

...and the Spidey movies are badly cast cheesy MTV chick flicks.

For me Iron man is number 1! It has no weak spots like other some comic book films and gets so much right.I'm really looking forward to seeing it again.I wasnt expecting to like it as much as I do, it's a great achievement by Jon Favreau.

My favorite movie of all time. :woot:

In terms of how it stacks up with the rest of the comic movies, it's deffinatly up there with Batman Begins, Superman: The Movie, Spider-Man 2 and X-men 2.

For me, IM in on par with BB, Spider-Man 2, and X2. I never thought it would be so good. I'm not a big IM fan, but I was paniced to see the movie, and I wasn't disappointed. For it to be the first outing for the character, it was a near flawless film. It far surpasses Spidey 1, X1, 3 Batman films, any Superman film, both FF's, and alot of "normal" actioneers, in my opinion. I would've just been happy with an okay IM movie, and it turned out great.

Easily the best Marvel film to date, my only gripe was Gwenith Plaltrow seemed really out of place to me (much like Katie Holmes in Batman Begins.) I'ts not quite Marvel's "Batman Begins," but it is a damn good adaptation non the less.

lets have this poll on a general forum. obvious this will be the best movie here.

I'd put this above BB simply due to the fact that it has greater wit while still maintaining seriousness. Batman is awesome, but too serious for my tastes when compared to a witty movie like Iron Man. Iron Man was just more fun to me.

Yeah, but that's the difference in the characters, we've seen how things turn out when you make Batman fun and no one wants another Batman & Robin.

As for where I'd rank Iron Man, I can't rank it yet, it's too new, gotta wait till the DVD. It's definitely a great movie, one of the best superhero movies, but gotta let the hype wear off before ranking it. Plus having such an incredible ending
(both the I am Iron Man and Nick Fury endings)
helps me overlook some flaws it may have had. My top five right now are Batman Begins, X2, Spidey 2, The Crow, Blade; Iron Man will probably be there somewhere, but gotta wait for the DVD to accurately place it.

Lets see for me it would be like this;

1. Iron Man {Eazly the best Heroe film thus far, it was seriously flawless}

2. Batman Begins

3. Spider Man 1

4. X-Men 2

5. Spider Man 2

6. Fantastic 4 movie 1

7. Batmans first movie with the Joker in it.

8. Fantastic 4 movie 2

Thats it. But yah Iron Man is number 1 for me and I really can't wait for te sequal, I'm counting down to it.

Iron Man is a good flick. i wouldn't rank it higher than the Spider-Man movies. but it's right behind it.

I'd definitely put it in the top five of best comic films to date. I'm not the biggest fan of Iron Man, but the film was near-perfect, imo.

I'd agree with this. My personal top five goes

1. Batman Begins
2. X2
3. Iron Man
4. Spider-man 2
5. Spider-man (sometimes I have V for Vendetta up there, it's hard to decide)

That's fairly close to what a many people have for their top ten, except they'd probably substitute Superman in for one of the ones I had.

I think I have to put Ironman on top honestly. It had PERFECT balance imo that I've not seen in any superhero movie to date.

1. Ironman
2. BB
3. Spidey 2
4. SR
5. X2

I am leaving Superman: The Movie out as times have changed so much since then it's kind of hard to compare. I give credit for it serving as a blueprint for future SH movies though.

1. Spider-Man 2
2. Batman Begins
3. Iron Man
4. X2: X-Men United
5. Spider-Man 3

One more viewing of IM & it may be #1. Let's hope IH & TDK make the list too.

Do you really think there has been a better balanced/pacing of a SH movie than IM?

I don't know that I can stack it up against anything. It feels like the start of something new. Like a new thing unto it's own. This really feels more like a Marvel film to me. That's part of what's so exciting about it.
