Soon after that fight scene they did show the thing that was on his head maybe that was a clue

I am not a fan of that Ultimate Spiderman cartoon at all but they actually did that idea with Electro possessing various appliances and gadgets attacking Spidey.

Electricity may not be able to be "destroyed" exactly, but it can be converted to light or heat, which Electro would hypothetically not be able to come back from. Since he was apparently sucked into the grid, he was energy powering the city. He's probably dead, which is too bad cause I liked him a lot.

I really hope he is back for the sinister six has he is just so eye candy. The power plant fight was amazing and was great CGI and will look great even like 8 years form now.

Kinda dumb that he blew up like that, considering he didn't really have a phisical body to blow up anymore, he had become pure lightning, otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to teleport the way he did.
