Where the Wild Things are.

well dont watch them then.

if you want cute puppets go watch sesame street

personally i think they look awesome.

My job obligate me to watch it. I’m a full paid movie critic and I must watch and rate every new and major release. I must watch the movie with honest mind (and I will), but thus far except for the cinematography I see nothing specially good in this one.

I haven't read the book in years but I was wondering about those character movie posters. Is the one monster named Ira supposed to be the monster to the left of The Bull in the pic you just posted Craigdbfan?

The one next to The Bull is Carol the main monster if you will.

Ira has been added just for the movie. There are actually a couple that weren't in the book and are movie exclusive.

Hope that the movie is good. I will give it a fare chance. Still look's creepy.

Great to hear. At first I thought they had screwed up his look.

Actually I found them all to be ever so slightly cute in relation to the book. In the book most of them have these demonic wild looking eyes. In the movie they toned them down a bit and made them look a bit human which kind of irked me, that and the voices should have been slightly altered via computer to add a bit of a deeper pitch to them than just keeping the actor's voices 100% normal.

Other than those two minor complaints I can't wait to see this book a lot of us were raised on come to life.

So the book is creepy too.

PS: From the trailer i must say that the cinematography is quite good (and i'm a cinematograper).

I've seen so many hipsters wearing Wild Thing shirts all over the place. It's going to be the next Nightmare Before Christmas. Ugh.

But that's the point. There is no horror that was creepy for me but these creatures...

yeah, it shows that those monsters arent what you think they are, its part of the story

the wait for this movie is killing me. those posters are great.

Unfortunately it will be. Nothing is sacred to the hipsters.

Actually, they were really faithful with the Wild Things. Every Wild Thing that appears in the book appears in the movie. I don't think they added any more.

Your right. Its been a while since I read the actual book.

Was basing this off the books cover. Hard to remember these things.

Thanks for the correction.

I love this fear of phantom "hipsters".

If we're talking subcultures, Nightmare Before Christmas was embraced by mall goths, not what people describe as "hipsters".

But basically if you whine about people you think are "hipsters" you're probably just a massive dork.

If you were a real film critic you would know that you can never judge a movie based on its trailer.

For those who like this sort of thing, Urban Outfitters is doing a huge cross promotion with Where the Wild Things are. They seem to have a ton of merch and a contest to go see the premiere in LA.
Urban Outfitters can be a tad expensive, so I don't have very much from them but I'll definitely try to score a t-shirt or something.

The biggest Urban Outfitters in NYC is right at my subway stop. I guess it's pretty much the employee uniform. I went in there one day, saw that t-shirts were $40, and left immediately.

I have sayed nothing bad about the movie. I'm just creeped out by the creatures

Wait, why is the fact that the monsters look a little creepy a bad thing? Or am I interpreting this wrong?

Yes you do. The movie looks visually very good, and have big potntial. My worie is that the creepy monster may make the movie to weird for me. I hope a good story to fix that. Still, i will watch the movie and i have more that normal hopes.

I saw a decent shirt at the mall that had Max and the monster silhouettes.. haven't seen any others though.
