You know what I used to love on Saturday Mornings in the 90's?

Saturday Anime on SciFi. I'm not a huge anime fan but I loved vegging out watching it every week

One of the best things about the 90s was Fox Kids!, one thing that 90s did have over now was saturday mornings.

I can say the same thing about the 70's. Your enjoyment of cartoons changes of course as you grow older, so as a child in the 70's those cartoons were awesome, as a young adult in the 90's not so much. :cwink:

There's also a change of scheduling. There has been a shift away from the whole "Saturday Morning Cartoon" thing. Cartoon network for instance shows its new episodes on monday nights, not Saturday mornings.

Their current crop of shows has been pretty great the last few years though, far better than what they had 6- 10 years ago.

I remember the 80s had cartoons on 3 different channels Saturday morning and then the 2 other channels on weekday afternoons. That ran into the 90s.

And while I love Pinkey and the Brain, Animaniacs and Batman TAS, the 80s had Voltron, Robotech, Transformers, GI Joe, Thundercats, Smurfs before most of them got bastardized into over the top movies.

And the 2000s had Fairy Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, Dave the Barbarian, TMNT 2003, Avatar: The Last Airbender, most of South Park's Episodes, One Piece, Spongebob, Teen Titans, Kim Possible, Foster Home for Imaginary Friends, Samurai Jack, Billy and Mandy, Justice League, Invader Zim, and so much more. That's not even mentioning anime and live action tv shows

You kids get off my lawn.

I pretty much have to agree with what just about everyone else is saying. The 90's wins this easily.

1. Ugliest clothes ever.

3. Horrible music.

I was in High School during the 90's and I guess it shows how much I cared about fashion considering I can't even remember the 90's having a style like previous decades. :woot: Only thing I really remember is Goth became really popular. Not to say that there weren't kids/people into that before hand but in the mid-late 90's it exploded.

I mainly quoted you because I HEAVILY disagree on the music thing. Not sure if you're talking about a certain type or just about everything but the music in the 90's ****s on a lot of what's come out this past decade, especially Metal. Hell, even a lot of alternative/rock one hit wonders I enjoy more than a lot of the more recent tunes.

Wrong, because...everything was better during the 90's!!! Pwnd

This I really agree with. It's gotten to be a treat to find something worth a **** to listen to on the radio. Which seems to happen late at night a lot actually for me.

It is also weird being at that transitional stage where a lot of what I liked is moving to classic rock stations.

The 90's was the pinnacle of refinement for almost all musical genres. Srs.

The 80's had the best overall cartoons;

Transformers
Mask
Visionaries
1982 Incredible Hulk Series
Spider-man and His Amazing Friends
..the list can go on and on…..

I counter your claim with Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, SWAT Katz, Batman:TAS, Superman:TAS, Batman Beyond and X-men: TAS..the list can go on and on…..

No one mentioned 90s Nick yet?

Not just Nicktoons but all of Nickelodeon in general, the live action shows too

so as a child in the 70's those cartoons were awesome. :cwink:

I agree with that statement! nothing can equal the lucid, psychedelic dreams of H.R Puffnstuff

though technically not cartoons but more live action LSD trips! The 70's were a magically technicolor dreamscape!:cwink:

oh and i think the 90's were better of the two!

Why do so many more people like the 90's more?

I think most people like the 90s for pop cultural reasons.
