I have no idea what that is.Bit it's highly disturbing.

Basically the death of Scarlet Witch and Vision's children. They were absorbed back into Mephisto from which they initially came from, more or less.

She did.

Weren't they reincarnated? I didn't know SW had anything to do with that. I thought her meeting and tutelage with Wiccan before realizing he and Speed may be her dead sons was an ironic coincidence?

Upping the stakes, maybe? Given the title of the movie, I wouldn't be surprised if someone does die. In any war, deaths are inevitable. If we look at the Avengers movies, a Shield Agent dies in the first one. An actual Avenger dies in the second. Marvel is raising the stakes as it gets closer to Infinity War. I don't mind if nobody dies in Civil War, but somebody better die in Infinity War.

Fine. Ronan and Nebula. :cwink:

Booo!

Ronan's already dead and Nebula is a villain. I want to see someone die. I don't want Marvel to make us think that there heroes are invincible and can't die, because that would be lame.

It already is lame. The fact of the matter is, Marvel is not in the business of leaving money on the table. Joss Whedon was very clear on this. There's a reason he had to kill Quicksilver and not one of the better established Avengers: the suits and bean counters aren't gonna let them kill people they're actively making money off of.

That means that anyone who is going to die is gonna be someone relatively unimportant, like Coulson or Pietro (who got very little development in the grand scheme of things) and whose deaths left people unsatisfied. If you're going to kill someone, make it a big death that actually matters, not someone who you're gonna kill because they're expendable.

Killing someone just because is pointless box ticking.

If Bucky murders Rhodey the audience is going to have an awfully difficult time remaining on Team Cap. Same thing goes for Team Stark if Natasha snaps Sharon's neck.

Unless Zemo is pulling the trigger I'd keep the fatalities for this one at zero.

They found out she subconsciously reincarnated them after they died.

But they are invincible and can't die. That's why I like comics. Even if someone dies they'll be back in a year or so. Death is a minor inconvenience. It's like a time out.

The fact the movies feel death needs to mean something or have impact or create stakes bothers me. Ruins my enjoyment of the movies.

Not to mention if characters I like die... why keep watching? I'm not watching for story, I'm watching for these characters. Story can be crap or spectacular it doesn't matter. But if they don't have the characters it could be an oscar winning story and I won't care.

So if wanda dies but it's an incredible moment in film and fits the story... fine, but I'm not seeing it or any other movies. I mean I've waited this long for these characters, if they are just going to waste them to create drama or the illusion of stakes... well sounds like they aren't for me anymore.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I really hope it's not the case but it seems like it's heading that way.

Also, if they are going to kill off one character, why kill off one of the few female superheroes they have?

I dunno why they would. Maybe SW kills War Machine and screams and explodes. Every thinks she's dead but she's not really dead. She's teleported just off somewhere in a remote area.

They're not gonna have Scarlet Witch kill another Avenger.
As I and others have said, it's really unlikely they're gonna have any of the heroes outright kill one of their fellow Avengers unless they plan on turning them into outright villains.

If Bucky killed Rhodey it would be the end of Team Cap because Steve would end it and then turn Bucky and himself in.

I don't see this happening or anyone from any side killing one another. Now an outsider like Black Panther who isn't part of the "family" might kill in battle but that would hardly be the set up Marvel would like for his upcoming solo film where he's a hero.

The nore I think about it. The more I dont think the fans or the GA could handle another death. Especially after the QS death outrage.

Woah, now that's a concept I never even considered. I mean, unless it was an accident, I totally agree this would make her an outright villan.

Then again, she has been known to outright screw over her peers...

Mutants? What's a mutant? :o

Near the end of Civil War, Scarlet Witch says "No more Avengers." Then, Poof! They Avengers all disappear, except for Wanda and Vision of course.

Dude, this is seriously entertaining. "I want to see someone die" :lmao::lmao:

Also, are you "SURE" Ronan is really dead? I'm not. I say "handle it like some cheesy TV series and only get rid of the good guys if they suck, want out of their contracts, or are a pain in the @$$. Off the bad guys!!!! :woot:

Ronan literally exploded. He's probably dead.

Ronan literally exploded. He's probably dead.

That reminds me of Kevin Kline's line in Soapdish.

Jeffrey (Kevin Kline) : At the current rate of inflation, her brain will laterally explore

Celeste (Sally Field) : Literally explode?

For a very funny scene, you can go to

In any case, they could easily bring Ronan back and haven't ruled his "resurrection" in the future. Oh those crazy comic book writers....

I've heard of crazier things than this

Well yeah they could bring anyone back. Its a comic film.

I 've been noticing that War Machine is on alot of merchandising for this movie. He's got the Titan figure, a halloween costume among other things. I find it difficult to believe that he'll die now.

My prediction is Cap will get fake killed at the end of CW, then comes back for IW.

Are they gonna fake kill him when they already fake killed Nick Fury? How many fake kills can they do?

As someone noted in the merchandise thread, the fact that War Machine is so heavily merchandised for this film makes me think it's even less likely he's gonna die.

Compare it to Quicksilver, who got very little in the way of toys.

As many as they want I guess. Can't really sway a billion dollar companies thoughts can we?
