What was your preferred 'Character' of Hulk himself?

Not looks or design or size or shape or choice in pants or voice or Bruce Banner character or actor or preference of movie itself but Hulks 'CHARACTER'

"That's my secret ...I'm always angry."

2008. I prefer his character development in that movie compare to the 1st one and Avengers.

Avengers Hulk. Ruffalo and Joss made Banner an endearing character and the Hulk was the best we've seen thus far.

I liked Norton and Bana as well but it was nice to see Banner accept his affliction and try to turn it into a positive instead of always running and being a constantly tortured soul.

No matter what, to me Hulk is first and foremost a tragic story.

For me it was Hulk 2003, in that he emoted more than any other.

This is about Hulks character not Banner :cwink:

I grew to love the Avengers design very much. I still think the 2008 version could've looked a bit better in the day scenes had a better SFX studio worked on him. He looked fantastic though during that rain sequence in the cave. Love when he gets pissed off at the lightening.

I'll still always prefer Norton. Just love the ish out of 2008's TIH.

They're all "classic Hulk".

He's a constantly evolving character, Always has been :)

Avengers' Hulk gave him great short scenes. But Ang Lee's Hulk portrayed more character. Incredible Hulk looked so plastic and those glowing green eyes didn't look good on him.

So true. A big Hulk fan I know said:

I've always maintained that the Hulk has ALWAYS been about change.. it's the one consistent thing over the years.

I think the 2008 movie
Violent started (intro)
Wanted to be left alone
Protective of Betty
Hates the general, doesn't want to hurt him
Can be aimed as a weapon by Banner, if not that much
Hates Abomination
A hero in the end

Proper Hulk right there

Agreed its only going to get better! Can't wait to see more of the big green monster in AOU!

My vote goes for 2012. I think they got the concept of the hulk correct and made him more than just an uncontrollable beast. The concept used by Whedon really made the Hulk work in the Avengers and makes it especially a triumph in the battle for New York when for the first time The Hulk seems to be coherent to what others are saying to him. When Cap gives him orders he follows them, I know it is a simple "Hulk smash" but the fact he obeys WILLINGLY shows a more heroic and controlled Hulk. The fact he is making choices and acting like a hero rather than an uncontrollable monster that is fighting the villain for more of a reason than either protecting betty or because it made him mad. He is actually trying to save people and actively acting heroic not accidentally being heroic.

^ Agreed

I still want a talking Hulk. I don't care about the "TV memories" of the general public.

This.

TIH is the most underrated MCU film IMO.

Character? What character? He wasn't allowed to be a character in any of those movies. He's just a special effect. Oh well, I voted Avengers because he was most entertaining at least there.

There's more to characterization than dialogue. The Avengers version in particular had plenty of character. It was just largely communicated via body language and action.
