I could not make this thread into a poll, sorry, but the question is what villain did you like the most? who do you think had the better motive to being evil?...

-Iron Monger
-Abomination
-Whiplash
-Loki
-Red Skull

As for me, I liked Red Skull the most, then Loki...

Can someone make this into a poll, or show me how

My favorite villain is Loki. He was written as a truly fleshed out character, with motivations that we could both understand and empathize with. At the end of Thor I felt something when Loki was lost, both physically and emotionally, by his father and brother. The other villains were great, don't get me wrong, but they lacked the human dimension that made Loki great.

Obediah Stane. Iron Monger was a generic villain (though he still had a better fight than underused Mickey Rourke), but the man behind the armor was a great character. He represents the ugly side of American capitalism and the military industrial complex. His allusions to the atomic bomb and how he planned to use the armor was chilling and Jeff Bridges, a master thespian, was able to turn off from warm and fuzzy to cold, cruel and Machiavellian in an instant. A very memorable character, even if his powers were not.

Loki then Red Skull.

With Loki you felt for him and understood why he embraced evil but took him serious as a threat to humanity and Asgard.

Marvel Studios was smart to give him daddy issues. It made him more relatable IMO.

"Look At U The Mighty Thor!! With ALL Your Strength But What Good Does Do You Now Huh!!! DO YOU HEAR ME BROTHERRRR!!!"
Loki Was Awesome

Definitely Loki, followed by Obadiah Stane and then Red Skull.

Obidiah Stane. THAT was an antagonist with substance. None of the other villains in the MCU were as layered as him. Also, having the Dude play Stane was a massive bonus.

1. Loki is 1st because he's the most layered and you really felt how dangerous he became at the end of Thor.

2. Red Skull is 2nd because he was the perfect reversal of the hero and he was very efficent in his actions.

3. Iron Monger is 3rd because he was so close to Tony that it was almost a shock when he finally betrayed him.

I'd have to say the Red Skull first only because he seemed to be nothing but pure evil, a complete ****. Loki would be a close second, but not first because he almost came across as a character you could feel sorry for. Not that his actions could be justified, he just seemed messed up and mischievous versus pure evil. Having said that ... can't wait to see where they go with him. I think they've just touched on his character.

A tie between Loki and Red Skull.

Red Skull. It almost felt like they brought the comic version to life, I just wish he didn't leave the Nazis. That bit felt sort of out of character, but the rest was awesome. I can't wait to see him return.

Whiplash, Abomination, then Stane. I didn't care much for film Loki and especially Red Dull...I mean Skull.

RedSkull had greater ambitions than the Nazis which they even explained why he left..

I get that, but in the comics he seemed loyal to Hitler... well until Hitler died.

can we have this post again but with a poll? i vote loki btw

Loki blitzed the field, Stane was unlucky to run 2nd to a record breaker.
Skull got bronze, but was a bit far back.

Honourable mention to Laufey, who unfortunately had little screentime.

Loki a definite first, Hiddleston was magnificent and I can't wait to see him again in The Avengers.

Second would be Emil Blonsky. Why so little love for him? He was excellent.

To be fair i've liked them all. But if I was to pick one it'd be Loki. Amazing performance by Hiddleston. And I thought Loki was written really well. Reminded me of Loki from his 2004 mini series.

Hammer and Red Skull probably come in 2nd and 3rd.

To be honest, there haven't been too many duds. I could probably make an argument for most of them. The Red Skull and Loki were just my favorites.

Loki

Red Skull

Abomination

Iron Monger

Whiplash

I thought Whiplash just sucked, had no interest in his scenes at all in the movie.

Loki definitely.

Then Red Skull, then Stane.
