10,000 B.C makes the most sense as Universal has no big tent pole movies coming out any time soon. Doomsday looks like a direct to dvd release, while 10,000 B.C has a big name director with a broader audience base with the subject matter and hype machine in full swing. The teaser should be with 10,000 B.C and then the full trailer with Iron Man on May 2nd.

Doomsday looks awesome to me but it's not on the same level of mass exposure as 10,000 BC. I'd bet it's attached to both of these film. Doomsday will have a solid following.

he was joking. and IMO it was a good joke. the joke was that the traielr would come after the premiere.

sicnce we are now in februar and we have only two pics.

My bad. :o
I actually was thinking the guy was serious , cause not everyone on the hype is following every news coming from star trek.
I mean some people are still suprised to hear that ILM is doing the VFX for Iron Man even though it was announced long ago.

TIH will be the first big budget comic movie IMO without a teaser

and i dare to say that this is a fact. sorry but we are now in februar. marvel can not be that stupid to now realese a teaser. whats there to tease?
whats there to tease? that in 3 montsh a movie comes out?

no. now its time for a full trailer.

Not necessarely a CB movie , but POTC 3 just had 1 big trailer. And yes i do realise that POTC 2 was still fresh in people's mind and had already made 1 billion dollars worldwide. However there was just 1 trailer due to the fact that they were really rushing to get all the shots done.

I wouldn't be surprised if we would see just one trailer due to the fact that they are reallt working hard on the VFX. But even so it's still worrying that they aren't showing us anything. I can understand them keeping a tight lid on footage/pics because they want a real grant unveiling of sorts.
And yes i agree with those people are saying the Universal is making a real bad move marketing this movie. I mean promoting Hellboy 2 and not Hulk even though Hellboy comes out AFTER Hulk.

if it doesnt make TF numbers than i dont see why we would laugh at this pathetic marketing.

Marvel wants this movie to be as big as Transformers

I think every studio wants their big comic book movies to hit 300 plus million in the US alone :cwink:

HOwever we have to be realistic here. I doubt Hulk may hit 300 million domestic , however 200 plus million can definately be achieved

Well, the most shocking to me is that we haven't really seen s*%t yet. The movie comes out in 4-1/2 months and they have yet to show even a full body picture let alone a trailer. I mean, Godzilla had a trailer a full year before it even hit the theater. I wonder if there is just some butterflies due the huge negative backlash that came from the Superbowl spot 5 years ago.

I like this keep them waiting strategy, and if I were them I wouldn't release any teaser, just a full trailer with Iron Man, followed by a highly concentrated ad campaign until TIH is released.

As for how it will do money wise, if there's one thing I've learned following box office numbers over the years it's that sequels to films with poor word of mouth are inevitably hindered at the box office, reguardless of how good a film they are. That trend is why they're trying so hard to distance the Incredible Hulk from Ang Lee's 2003 version in the eyes of the consumer, even going out of their way to recast every single character.

If they make a good film that has more positive word of mouth than the 2003 one and break even (2 x films cost in worldwide box office), then that would represent a considerable step forward for the franchise, and Marvel itself. This would garner them a considerable profit from merchandising (quite a bit of that in money up front), video game , increased comic sales.

Additionally, that good word of mouth would translate into a considerably more profitable sequel down the road, and a solid future for Marvel studios.

All they have to do now is deliver on the quality.
