I don't think that would be how Venom would have survived.

I think the only quasi-plausible explanation is that the symbiote permenately bonded with him, and over time, a remaining shred of the symbiote was able fully regenerate itself plus Brock; as the singular entity Venom.

This may be problematic for one cast member, whose character appears to die on screen. I won't tell you which one, but the actor or actress who plays this character did say to me later, "It turns out I may not be completely dead."

It doesn't say that the character dies or appears to die on Spidey 3, it says "appears to die on screen" on Spidey 3...

Agreed about the casket/funeral point. On the other hand, if you have to freeze frame a shot of the film in order to illustrate your point that a character has died...that's going to be a pretty easy "death" to erase.
