marvel's really riding a good streak right now. none of their movies have been duds but with so many coming out, at least one of them is bound to disappoint. which one do you think it will be?

Hopefully none of them, but failing that, I guess Thor: Ragnarok is the obvious candidate?

I don't know if I could handle Black Panther or Captain Marvel being bad. It would break my little heart.

Anything would be a guess at this point, but I'm not very optimistic about Ant-Man.

They have missed the mark twice on Thor. They need to really nail the epic-ness of the concept on something called Ragnarok.

my biggest worry is that audiences may not be ready for a black led superhero movie. i fear black panther will make the least money of all of them along with the fact that justice league will be released 2 weeks after it opens.

They haven't had a dud yet. Who says there has to be one?

Strongly disagree.

None.

Marvel... Can't... Fail

But audiences were ready for a talking raccoon and his buddy the tree? :whatever:

I actually think Thor is the obvious candidate to get the best solo movie. After two mild successes they'll really want to hammer Ragnarok home.

Ant-Man has the biggest chance of being a dud IMO.

I don't have that fear at all. We've been in a world where a black actor can be a big box office draw for 20 years now.

Just a fleeting thought, but
Iron Man 1 was the game changer.
Captain America 2 was the game changer.
hopefully Thor 3 will be the game changer?

At least, I do hope so because the other Thor's are a slight but undeniable drag on the rest of the MCU at the moment.

And that's why Boseman was perfect casting. I'm thrilled he's T'Challa. He's going to elevate the material. And after GOTG, Marvel has built such a strong brand - this is going to be a hit.

At this point Ant-Man I feel is the biggest challenge. If Marvel can pull that off they are unstoppable.

With Rudd and Douglas headlining and following directly after AOU I think they should be alright.

Strongly disagree.

Put it this way...there are some Thor fans who want less of the comedy act of the science intern and her assistant. In fact, we want less (or NONE) of the movie to take place on Earth. We want the rest of the realms fully explored in an epic way that shows the grandeur possible in the concept.

I think they'll put extra attention into Thor3 as I believe they are aware that he is the only one of the core 3 Avengers who has yet to have a truly great movie(I liked both Thor films but I wouldn't put them in the same class as CA:TWS or IM1).

I'd like ALL of the movie to take place on Earth, quite frankly. I'd like to see at least for a while Thor doing regular superhero stuff among the mortals without a huge world/universe threatening crisis that he has to deal with(the more of these that come around tends to devalue the threats). Have him deal with the Wrecking Crew, Absorbing Man, etc. It's like he never got a chance to just rest in his own status quo for a bit the way most other characters do. Loki probably wants to keep him on Earth so that could factor into the plot.

Ant-Man because of production problems, Pym isn't the protagonist with the more obscure Scott Lang taking over and Wasp being dead. Inhumans not many people care about them and there isn't enough buzz going on around them from fans.

I hope Ant-Man is huge if for no other reason than to silence all the Edgar Wright fanboys.

Doctor Strange is my biggest worry. I just don't see it finding a mass audience...the supernatural/horror genre is very specific (and limited narratively). Imo, the film's success is going to hinge entirely on the the lead actors' charisma and the script's humor to bridge the gap.
