Marvel or DC?

Not meant to be a troll, I'm actually a bit curious.

in b4 Batman Prep time.

That's a tough question. I guess you would have to go through and compare some of the greatest technological achievements in each universe. For now though, I'm going to lean to the side that has Reed Richards, since he always seems to be coming up with crazy new ****.

It's a tie. Both have incredible tech that stretches Clarke's third law to it's limits.

If I HAD to pick i'd say Marvel.

Its honestly pretty even though.

Anyone willing to give examples supporting why they think their choice is superior?

Science is easier in DC so I'd suspect easier equates to stronger.

For instance, to travel in Time in the Marvel Universe you have to mess with weird things like chronotons and tachyons.

In DC you just need to run fast on a treadmill or fly around the Earth counter clockwise.

That's just because Marvel tries to keep things "grounded" by throwing around pseudo-scientific terms that most don't know the meaning of. DC tends to just say "**** it" and gets on with the story.

Also, the counter-clockwise around the Earth thing doesn't work, and the Cosmic Treadmill is an example of powerful DCU technology.

I'm going with Marvel due to the technology created by Reed Richards, Victor von Doom, Hank Pym, T'Challa, and Tony Stark. DC on the other hand has Lex Luthor and.....Lex Luthor.

Pretty much for me too. Marvel just has more prominent examples of high level tech and seems to be better utilized. That doesn't really equate to "better" though, but i'd give the edge to Marvel.

You're limiting it too much.

DC has:

The Cosmic Treadmill, the various Lantern Corps rings, the Monitor's tech (and the Anti-Monitor's stuff), all of the New Gods' technology, the Manhunter robots, STAR Labs' tech, Legion flight rings, basically everything else that Booster Gold stole in his origin, the crazy crap Batman and his rogues come up with, Toyman's tech, and yes, Lex Luthor's inventions, among many others that I'm sure others could mention.

Marvel has:

The Ultimate Nullifier, the Cosmic Cube, the Infinity Gauntlet, the inventions of Richards, Doom, Pym, T'challa, and Stark, Cerebro, Hank McCoy's inventions, Spidey's webshooters, web fluid and spider-tracers (as well as Ben Reilly's toys), any and all of Bruce Banner's gamma stuff, the Goblin tech, Mysterio's toys, the Spider-Slayers, the Sentinels, Ultron, and many others.

Like I said, they're even.

The above post also neglects to mention non-specific high tech items from the various space-faring races in each universe (ships, blasters, hyperdrives, etc.).

When it comes to universes, I usually just think of their Earth's and avoid the cosmic stuff (when it comes to that, they are even).

In the end, STAR Labs, WayneTech, K.O.R.D., and Lex Luthor have nothing against the combined might of Reed Richards, Stark Industries/Enterprises/International/Innovations/Resilience, Wakanda, Latveria, and the Scientist freaking Supreme.

That's because most of DC's Earth based high tech locales (Fortress of Solitude, the JLA Watchtower, etc. is mostly alien tech), and even then, you've got just as many geniuses on each earth.

They're the same. Both universes have equally over the top and inconsistant technological leaps thatnks to having thousands of writers over the years.

I'd have to say Marvel has the better tech. DC's top 3 ( Lex Luthor , Batman and Mr Terrific) have nothing on Marvel's top 3 (Doctor Doom , Mr Fantastic and Hank Pym).

Doc Magnus is a better Robot guy than Pym. Mainly because his creations didn't become mass murdering *****e bags.

Niles Caulder of the Doom Patrol is not only as smart, but out *****es Doom himself.

Brainiac 5 makes Reed Richards his b***h.

5 does NOT make Reed his *****.

This reminds me of my Dream Team League.

Art by Corp and my team should have won EVERY match. Brains win.

The Yancy Street Gang still rules!!!

:thing: :thing: :thing:

Hank's not mainly a robotics guy though. Ultron would destroy the Metal Men anyway.

Niles Caulder is in coma right now. So , victory for Doom !

Brainiac 5 only appears smarter because he's working with 30th century tech.

My Dream Team would kick your Dream Team's ass any day. :o

Ultron got beat by Daredevil once. Tin could probably take him depending on the circumstances, also, Magnus is up there many other disciplines as well. Like putting brains in robot bodies, and pipe technology. :o

Even in a coma Caulder could take Doom. That dude finds a way to lose. :o

And that's boo s**t. Brainy once schooled everybody in the 40th century with his mind mojo. :o

Also, :o

Since when is Batman considered one of the DCU's top scientists?

Because he's Batman. :o

And both universes' technology can do anything besides curing cancer, paralysis, and other story related medical dilemmas. Jack Kirby created Mother Boxes and Cosmic Cube both devices can fundamentally do anything. I think that says a lot about superhero comics, Jack Kirby, and why I love both.
