Which Video Games let you down?

For me, I'd say arkham city, killzone 3, and resistance 3, none of them are bad, I just had high expectations

Oh snap! I didnt' mind the lack dlc but the broken combat play (Superman/Jax) ruined it for me.

I never really used those two characters. I usually just stuck with Green Lantern and Scorpion ( my two fav. characters from each one ). I was just hoping for some DLC, like maybe Robin, Nightwing, Doomsday, Quan Chi, Reptile etc

I only bought Arkham City because of the hype. I didn't care for Asylum, so I wasn't able to get into City.

Kirby's Epic Yarn disappointed me to the ends of the earth. It irks me how people equate presentation with gameplay. Yes, the game DOES look amazing and it DOES have a unique aesthetics. That does NOT make this game fun.

Dead Island. This game had HUGE hype behind it. It built itself up as a 12/10, and came off to me as a 6/10.

Skyward Sword is a love-hate thing. Excellent game, story (It's so every-Zelda-before yet it has plenty of new that it comes off awesome) but the WiiMotionPlus controls bring me down.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I can't believe how much more fun I have playing Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (on the WII no less) over this. And I've played UMvC3 (my roommates have it). Its...not worth buying again. Most casual/semi-competitive fighting gamers aren't going to care about the buffs or nerfs, I know I didn't, and the new characters are...whatever. A few of them I liked and even those guys didn't hold my interest long enough. MvC3 really let me down in terms of gameplay, modes, and the roster. UMvC3 is simply all the DLC that we should have gotten for MvC3. Brilliant attempt at making people rebuy the same game(s) again, Capcom.

You know, aside from the most obviose disappointment of Skyrim, one of the surprising disappointments was Serous Sam 3. While it's not terrible and certantly not as bad as Duke Nukem Forever. It has very odd design decisions. The big beautiful colorful environments have been replaced with dirty brown and grey levels that could have been ripped directly from Call Of Duty. Rather than have big open environments, it's been turned into tight mazes. Rather than being out and out wacky, the game weirdly does have a serous ton. The weapons much like the environments have been replaced with realistic modernization. The iron-sights feel totally out of place. It still has it's redeeming quality, you still do get hoards of enemy running at you and the levels are still fairly open ended compared to most modern games today. It's also very hard. Like the originals, it comes with many, many tweak options. However, alot of stuff in the game is very head scratching. The HD collection of the first and second encounter are better games.

I'm sure it's been mentioned, but Dragon Age 2 was such a disappointment. Dragon Age: Origins is definitely in my Top 3 but they seriously just stripped the sequel of everything that made the first one great. That being said, I will definitely buy the third one because I'm a sheep.

Dead to Rights: Retribution was a big disappointment IMO, it managed to ruin everything the previous games established, and that's saying alot since the previous titles were just "ok". They managed to learn nothing from their mistakes

Prince of Persia (2008) - that game really doesn't sit well with me, i think everyone got attached to playing as Dastan, then they try and introduce a new Prince and gameplay that made the overall game extremely easy, not good.

Dark Sector - i REALLY wanted Dark Sector to be good, the early tech demo's made the game look great, the final product on the other hand was a ripoff of Gears of War.

Castlevania: Lord of Shadow - As much as I wanted a new Castlevania, this recent one doesn't really set well with me, i can appreciate what they tried to do with the game, but it came across as more God of War than an actual Castlevania game.

Dead Island- I remember the excitement i got from watching the announcement trailer, then i saw the gameplay footage and even though my expectations were lowered i was still hyped. Then the actual game came out...wow...it was terrible.

whew boy, how could i forget.....Perfect Dark Zero, boy was I pissed when i played that game

My greatest disappointment was The Bouncer.

The graphics and soundtrack were amazing, but one of its main selling points was that it was going to have interactive backgrounds, but for whatever reason, that was taken out before its release. Also, making this beat 'em up one player only during Story Mode was beyond stupid.

If any game needs to be remade by Square (besides FF7), its this one.

LA Noir. Sheesh, what a lame game that turned out to be.

Both Iron Man games
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Assassin's Creed
The Force Unleashed II

Those are the most recent one's I can think of.

It was what i expected to be, i don't know why the complaints, it was advertised from that start as different from GTA and more about the story.

Either way, did anybody else say Duke Nukem Forever?

It was marketed for its story, sure, but it was also marketed as a solid detective/mystery game.

It wasn't.

The interrogations are ridiculous. The search for clues is far too simple.

The classic point and click adventures were superior. Much superior.

Definitely Prince of Persia (2008) for me as well. And MvsC3 (though Ultimate improves - I'm still mad they didn't add AT LEAST a girl on each side).

For me though my biggest disappointment was Uncharted. Because I'd heard so many great things about it, and because I was a huge Tomb Raider fan. Honestly I think a lot of it just came from the fact that I recently played it for the first time and the graphics looked sub-par and the game mechanics annoyed me and I also thought it was a little monotonous. I still really want to play Uncharted 2 and 3 though, and imagine they'll be much more enjoyable.

Definitely still play Uncharted 2 and 3. I started the first 2 chapters of UC2, then played UC1. I'm glad I did because 2 improved a lot of things. I tried to play UC1 again last year but really couldn't get into it as I did the first time.

Imo, Uncharted 2 is the best of the trilogy, definitely in terms of graphics.

Ninja Gaiden II, Marvel's Ultimate Alliance 2, everything on the Kinect and the Wii.

I take back what I said about Serous Sam 3. The first one and a half hours feels like a generic Call Duty enviroment with smaller enviroments. After that though, it's awsome with huge open enviroments in a colorful egyptian landscape.

Rage was also a disappointment for me i mean the game looked nice the controls were good but the story was just bland and the checkpoint system was pretty ridiculous.
