Who Can Lift Mjolnir By Their Own Power?

but does he like combat itself, does he lust the challenge of battle or does he do it out of guilt or necessity?

I am the only one who I thinks Storm being able to wield Mjolnir stupid?

Storm never wielded Mjolnir

and Superman only managed it because Odin lifted the enchantment in a moment of crisis.

When the enchantment was in effect Supes couldnt lift it

The list is:

Thor

Odin

Eitri

Beta Ray Bill

Captain America

Dargo

Eric Masterson

I believe that's the complete list (i choose not to include Wonderwoman because Marvel vs DC isnt canon)

batman is the ultimate protector of those in peril though. He's the greatest hand to hand combatant in the DC universe and never shrinks from a challenge, even facing off against superman. In spite of all this darkness he has still manged to get to this point without killing.

Now that is a worthy warrior

Not by Asgardian standards. He would be expected to overcome the darkness easily and not let it affect him. He would also be expected to extend trust to his companions until they actually did something of their own free will to prove that they did not deserve trust. By Asgardian standards Batman is not particularly honorable and that is a big part of the worthiness test.

I agree, Batman wouldn't be worthy at all. Batman embodies the exact opposite of the Asgardian ideals of honor in some ways. He sticks to shadows, he uses fear to avoid even having to fight, he plots against people behind their back. Asgardians are defenders much more than attackers--they stay in their lovely city and are merry until someone attacks them. Batman, on the other hand, is a proactive plotter--he'll analyze everyone he comes into contact with, figure out the easiest way to beat them, and file it away for whenever he thinks he needs it. Meanwhile, Thor will sit there and trade blows with the Juggernaut or the Hulk for hours before finally teleporting them away every time instead of just teleporting them in the first place. He'll also refrain from using the bulk of his powers against them, since they can basically only punch and kick. Batman, on the other hand, will drop a gas pellet to confuse his opponent or cut the lights and put them at a disadvantage. Asgardians believe in testing their mettle against someone else on even footing, not in ending threats in the most efficient ways. Batman is the king of efficiency; if there's an easier way than fighting, Batman'll take it because it's simply more pragmatic, and if he's pressed into a fight, he'll use all the weapons and advantages at his disposal because he doesn't feel the need to test his skill against anyone in a fair fight.

Spider-Man could hold it. The Warrior Spirit doesn't mean that you pick fights or even love fighting. I think it has more to do with confronting challenges and if so Peter Parker answers the bell every single friggin time.

...Okay, do I need to type yet another essay about how holding the hammer depends on Asgardian standards and Asgardian standards are not just about warrior spirit and not even a little about Viking standards?

a real warrior doesn't sneak in the shadows looking to spread the seeds of dissent from within

That is the role of the assassin/spy/politician

A true warrior always faces his opponents head on on a level playing field, he doesn't skulk in the shadows

Stop stirring the pot before you upset the panther fans by inferring he has little honor.
Both Thor,.. Herc AND CAPTAIN AMERICA HAVE JOINED GROUPS TO GET THE INSIDE SKINNY without telling the people they joined.

Of "course" they had good reason,.. and the Panther didn't.

tsk.
(grumble - like saying because she wears a fur one-piece,. Squirrel Girl is a ****.)

What secret groups have those three joined? The only things I recall Thor keeping a secret are his secret identities (for obvious reasons) and his godly matters (because they're beyond the ken of mere mortals).

Just so long as we're all agreed on Optimus Prime.

Pfft maybe Gorilla Optimus from that transformers about animals. Now there's a robot that knew how to transform. Any old transformer can turn into a vehicle.

Yeah, especially when he learned how to morph in Beast Machines. That was hot because the Transformers were like, "Eff you, Power Rangers, we can do that crap too!"

It would be cooler if he hadn't morphed into a goddamn tree-hugging hippie.

Kind of a hippie monk, at least. Monks are cool. They know kung fu in all those 16-bit RPGs.

do you thihk if kraven the hunter was alive, that he would be able to use it?

No, Kraven the Hunter would not be able to lift Mjolnir.
except fro perhaps being a lil bad, he always did love the challenge of combat with an adversary and had a never say die attitude...

i'd say he's far more worthy than many other heroes.

Kraven's not pure of heart, or strong enough to break the enchantment.

Eh... I didn't like the whole religious reaching aspect of that show. Nor the explosions.

But watching the cycle drones work together rocked.
Not anymore. He's just some pissant Inhuman now.

You forget, the terrigen mists apparently unlocked a unique genetic trait that basically was the latent gene of a Living Tribunal level power. *Lame.*

He resorted to trickery and stuff, and even replaced Spider Man to smear his good name.

i'd say he's far more worthy than many other heroes.

Except for the fact that he committed the ultimate act of cowardice, suicide.
