The Dark Knight Who else besides me CANNOT go to an IMAX?

I'm not driving 3+ hours to Sydney to sit through a movie I don't want to see.

yeah, I called them and the lady started telling me how good Beowulf was . I said "No, I am Legend, not Beowulf" but she kept on yapping about Beowulf then she actually asked me if I had children because children like Beowulf more more than "the whale movie". bloody lunatic. so apparently they're not showing it and you're not missing out. I'm gonna call back closer to the date though because that woman seemed kinda off the plot.

There's an IMAX theater four or five hours from me, but of course it's showing Beowulf instead of I Am Legend. :csad:

There are two IMAXes within my vicinity:

One, in New Orleans.

The other, about 30 minutes from my house.

And guess what? The one in New Orleans only plays those nature films (you know, the kind of documentaries about the majestic sea-turtle in his natural habitat). The one 30 minutes from my house is only playing Beowulf, and, besides, it's a dirty old theater with relatively small screens (for IMAX, at least) that was (crappily) converted to an IMAX right after the hurricane.

The closest theater playing IAL is 300 miles from my home, in Houston, TX.

So, woe is me! I shall either have to wait until TDK comes out, WB releases it online (bloody unlikely, the bastards), or someone leaks a crappy camcorder video on YouTube (which is also unlikely).

Let's all cry together, my friends...

(Pulls everyone close)

(hugs)

(sobs)

(sobs some more)

(releases everyone's shoulders and wipes away a tear)

aaahhh... that made me feel better... sniff sniff.

haha. I agree.... I also want to just wait until the trailer and prologue come online because I AM LEGEND isn't that appealing to me. Sure, I like Will Smith. I like his movies.... but seriously.... ANOTHER MONSTER MOVIE? I'm really really really really sick of those. How many more times can I watch a person run away from a horde of zombies or vampires or whatever. seriously...

If an intelligent life-form from another planet was constantly monitoring the planet earth and watching our movies.... by now they would be seriously thinking to themself: "what the hell is it with earthlings and their fear of zombies? Good grief! they dont exist! get over it! aaaah!"

There is an IMAX 30 min. away from me. They are not playing IAL. They usualy don't get those movies for about a month or two. I had to wait to see Spidey 3 and Harry Potter, 2 months after they were in the cinemas.

Hello,

Since TDK prologue is being released tomorrow in IMAX theaters, I was wondering who else is like me and unable to go to an IMAX. All those like me should come to this thread and vent about being IMAX-less and pray together that the prologue hits the net tomorrow or very soon... or else we will just be out of luck and sad and moopy and crying and suicidal.

okay, i'm overreacting :) a little...

Any ways, I live in Fort Lauderdale Florida. There is an IMAX theater RIGHT HERE... but guess what? it's NOT playing I AM LEGEND... it's got Beowolf playing instead. The closest IMAX theater is on 545 Hibiscus St.
West Palm Beach, 33401.... and that is like an hour and a half drive north.

I'm a Batman fan... I love the dude... but gas is expensive and I dont want to drive an hour and a half and put more miles on my car. my car is a lease and i'm near the lease mile-limit enough already. haha.

So I'm out of luck.

who, my brothers/sister, can console me?

Greg

j/k, my condolences :csad:

The closest IMAX that's showing I Am Legend is three hours away, and I'm not making the drive. Of all the IMAXs to put it, they choose farthest one.

That sucks dude... if it makes you feel any better, I'm 10 min away from an IMAX theater that's playing I Am Legend :oldrazz:

My IMAX thinks that nature is more important and is showing some dang underwater movie.

I can only express my sadness for you with one picture....

Yeah this pretty much sucks. I have one about two hours from here, but they aren't playing it.

I just want to see the footage, my god.:csad:

Hopefully WB will realize what a crappy deal 90% of the fans are getting and release the footage online. Otherwise...

Well I don't really have a threat right now...

So they'd better do it...

Or else!

Well I have one just 35 minutes away from me but an actual life involving a wife, a child, and a job tends to interfere.

Ha! Love the Reverend Lovejoy reference, Judson. One of my favorite Simpsons moments...

But, yeah, I'm gonna have to travel a few hours to see this, I guess. Gotta make a little sacrifice I suppose...

you know what would be absolutely horrible?

If I was one of you guys and not seeing the prologue in IMAX tomorrow night at 7:30 at a theater that is on my drive home from my office!!!

Questions: Is this "prologue" going to be in the actual film? Or is this something special just for the time and won't be with the movie? I thought I heard this was just the first seven minutes of the film. Has it been confirmed? I can wait to see the whole movie in one piece but if this is separate I'll make the trip. Anyone know for sure?

I be Australian. I don't even think we're getting the Prologue. There's an Imax theatre in the city near me but...I don't think it's a proper Imax anymore...

That sound very much like me. The one closest to me that will show IAL on IMAX is 3 hours away from.

*hugs & cry along with The Sage on this disappointing news* :waa: :waa:

Does anyone have an IMAX that shows movies a few months after they have been out? My IMAX gets most of the large movies after they have been out about a month or two. Never on the release date. But, then again, I live in Iowa...
