I really hate it. I hate to have to stretch my left thumb for the joy stick. Why not have it where the D-Pad is? I don't get it. I like the xbox controller better, it's more confortable.

Is there a PS3 controller out there with the joy stick in place of the D-Pad?

I prefer the Playstation controller over the Xbox one, that said, Microsoft has done a great job improving their controller. I hated the original Xbox controller but the Xbox 360 one is very comfortable.

the whole sticks position thing is just daft. i mean if that left stick should be in a different place why shouldn't the right one also be in a different place. i mean in an fps you need the finer control on the right stick anyway. yet you manage. so what's up with your left hand that it can't use the left stick like the right one uses the right stick.

i don't hate it but i wish it were improved for PS3. the least they could have done was make it more ergonomic (360 controller feels more comfortable) and put some indentations on top of the analog sticks. those indentations would help me grip the thumb sticks better. i can't tell you how many lives i've lost in Super Stardust just because my thumbs kept slipping off of the sticks.

I love the controller and where the analog sticks are. If they moved it, they would have to move the d-pad and I hate its position on the 360 controller

I love the dualshock too. I used to play Genesis and SNES a lot, I remember the feeling of how comfortable the PS1 controller was. About a year ago I dusted off the old Genesis for no reason (before I finally gave it away), and the controller smashed my fingers together in an akward way. I've been a big fan of the grips on the Playstation style controllers since they came out.

Despite ppl trashing on it a lot, it's really not much different from a PS2 controller. It has the same button arrangement and overall shape. My only complaints are that, a.) it's too light, b.) the R2 and L2 buttons, hard to explain but their designed where simply putting the controller down hits them so if you're playing a game it can activate something you may not want, c.) rumble which is soon to be put back in.

Past those 3 problems I love it, the motion sensing can be good if done right, tho it's too sensitive and hard to control on a game like Motorstorm. The rechargeable battery and no wire rocks.

As for putting the analog where the d-pad is...no thnx. The analog position is fine, and in the exact same spot that the first PS analog sticks were when they implemented them, there's no problem. I guess if you have tiny hands I can see having trouble stretching, but they fit very well in my hands. Putting the analog where the d-pad is would kill fighting games like SF for me. I still love using the d-pad for games like that, and having to reach over the analog stick to do fast movements would be difficult.

I played GTA4 on the PS3 for like an hour.......... and guys......... the controller is soooooooooooo unconfrontable. I wonder if i return the game back to bestbuy in exchange for the 360 version, do u think that would work?

I'm talking from experience guys because i have both the ps3 and 360 and the Wii, so i played all three systems and i came to the conclusion that the 360 controller is the best because of it's confront level and where the buttons are located

now, let me ask you, u like playing SF because ............... the confront level of having the main movement controls is at a place where you don't have to stretch ur thumbs???????????

maybe i'm not holding the controller right, but than again, i shouldn't have to figure out how to hold it

Nope, once you open a game, you are only able to exchange it for the same item, meaning another PS3 version. They do that for piracy issues bc for all they know, you could have copied the PS3 GTA4 and now going for the 360 one

The 360 is horrible for 2D fighters. The D-pad is way too close to the face buttons to be effective.

ya, but i'm saying that he feel more confortable with SF (2d fighters) because of where the D-Pad is located. and the D-pad is located where the Analog stick should be on the PS3 controller. So, the main control of movement for games in the current industry of video games is in the most uncomfortable place on teh PS3 controller.

Seriously, is there a watch to switch the D-pad and analog stick controls by fooling with the settings or something?

I like the ps3 controllers. Better than xbox anyway. I got the original xbox back when they had those huge controllers and I sold it off and never went back. Now that was a crappy controller. I'm glad the PS3 controller is almost the same as the ps2. My only regret is I wish I would have waited before I bought a second controller so I could get a dual shock one. But that's not that big a deal to me. I don't really utilize the sixaxis crap though.

And maybe I'm one of few, but I like things to stay at least someone similar. I want graphics to continue to improve and I want more involved gameplay, but some things just don't need changing.

Amen to that. I also don't utilize the SixAxis at all really.. and while 56 dollars for DualShock 3 was a little steep.. It was well worth it playing with DMC4 and soon to play MGS4. I also agree to what you say about the familiarity. I like the seamless transition from playing with a PS2 controller and then having the exact setup for PS3. It's nice. You don't need to change a good thing.

360 controller > Xbox controller

Dualshock > 360

SNES > all

I'm just hoping that either Sony or Microsoft has the common sense to make a new Power Glove. I'm tired of playing without power, I need to reclaim the high.

what is this dual shock people are talking about, is that the PS3 controller?

It's kind of funny about the arguement you made, because I have the exact opposite problem with the Xbox controller. That and the black and white buttons for the Xbox controller seemed like stupid changes that MS made to differenciate from the DualShock to me. But to each his own, and I hope you find a PS3 controller that is setup like a 360 one.:woot::grin::word:

i heard somewhere that you can use the XBOX controller on teh ps3? is this true, can it be done, because if it's true......... doooooooggggg........ that would be tight

Hmm, I don't really have a problem with the controller, I have always thought that it's more comfortable than the X-Box controller. I feel your hands get more tired with the X-Box controller.
