Who is best suited to play the title role in the film version of"Black Panther"?

I'd say Hounsou then the guy from Firefly. Also what does Killmonger even look like, I've never actually seen his picture! What about White Wolf? I'd say Mathew Perry for the US guy who helps BP. And the guy from Law and Order with the crooked neck for Klaw!

I'd take Chiwetel as T'Challa don't get me wrong, hell he's a great actor, but he's not what I envision BP to look like. Actually Wesley Snipes is what I think of when I think BP, but he's too known as Blade now.

Djimon has a kind face, guy got a wise stoic look about him. Check out 'In America' he's damn got in that movie. I want someone with a strong African features to play BlackPanther and what's better than a Academy nominated actor whos actual African?

No I never ever think Wesley Snipes as BP. BP is never edgy and scruffy like Snipes. BP is 6'0", all smart and regal. Remember that BP is a Western Educated African, and spent time as schoolteacher in the US during his stint as an Avenger. So it's not just African feature we're talking here. BP easily is the most intelligent Black superhero. BP has the brain to go one on one with any other superhero. Does Snipes facial easily exudes intelligent, smart expression. I think not.

I'm ok with Djimon Hounsou, but not W Snipes. I think most people here agree with "no Snipes" thing. Snipes is very un-BP.

Personally my choices would be:(a) Denzel Washington (b) Wesley Snipes- he was uber cool as vampire slayer "Blade" (c) Will Smith of "Independence Day"/ "Men in Black I and II" and "Ali" (d) Taye Diggs of "The Wood" and "Ally McBeal" fame.

Does anybody have any better candidates(besides Denzel is only 53- the Panther is supposed to be a mature man -not some kind of stripling)?

Terry

Djimon Honsou, no question.

I think snipes can play regal easily, people forget what a damn good actor he is. Anyways I'm not saying he should play T'Challa at all if you would have read my idea for his cameo you'd have known that.

I'd like to see a solid PG-13 BP movie with a good director, T'Challa himself doesn't have to be a big name I say follow the Batman Begins model get a actor who will fully bring to life BlackPanther and surround him with amazing character actors.

Yup, and do a faithful costume. I hated the one they used for the Ultimate Avengers 2 animated movie. Ditto for DD.

I'd say BP's costume is probaly one of the few movie ready designs in comics.

micheal jai white should be black panther. he has the build of a comic character and has the martial arts experience to pull off the moves of t,challa

If Terry Crews could act a little better I would pick him..

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje would be a good choice

No, I don't have Showtime.:( But I think what you're saying is what I said, that he isn't that good an actor to pull of the role. He might have the body and the moves but his acting leaves a lot to be desired at least from what I've seen of his big screen movies. Morgan Freeman should definitely play some kind of role in the Council or maybe as a flashback to his father.

Anthony Anderson for Man-Ape.:o
That picture looks ****ing hillarious, man.

Amen to that. If not him Djimon Honsou would fit the bill. Anyone but Wesley Snipes. Id like to see an authentic African actor play this role, it would give depth to the character.

Why, the greatest all around talent in the world....

PRINCE!!!!

It could be a musical

Djimon Honsou nuff said.

If Snipes hadn't already been Blade I would have considered him. I'm not big on actors playing two different Marvel characters.

Snipes is too old for a BP origin movie, at least as T'Challa, but since he's been so big, as said before, I have to second the idea of him being T'Chaka, either in Flashback or with a touch of Grey added...

Djimon Honsou is awesome, but I've never noticed the tradtional sub-saharan African features on T'Challa... never. Yes, T'Challa is African, but does he resemble Djimon? Not even a little bit, to me... He's such a great actor that I wouldn't mind the casting, but he doesnt look like T'Challa.

I see Chietwel Enjofor as much more T'Challa like both in his Firefly demeanor and eye-acting. Even though he, honestly, strikes me as a bit old.

It's too bad we can't get a young actor to knock this out of the park, like Derek Luke (who also has a bit of African features (other than just being black)).

I would feature both Man Ape (Terry Crews for this maybe? Or Michael Jai White?) as an internal struggle within the country as well as someone smooth with a brutal side and European flavour for Ulysses Klaw (Brosnan, Nesson, Jackman?) as the outside antagonist who is responsible for T'Chaka's death.

I have to admit, having Morgan Freeman as an old, but still kick-butt T'Chaka would be so totally awesomely cool.

Whoopi as T'Challa's mom?

I hope that C. Priest and Reggie Hudlin get to be involved.. for publicity, they can do a national casting call..
