We all know the olympics, world series and world cup were long running evidence of some level of globalisation of sport but is anyone else kinda pleased to see that sports are now tearing down the boundaries.
Many sports had already become global. Ice Hockey, Baseball and Basketball for instance. (Did you know they played Baseball over here in England during the rough WW2 era?)
But is nice to see that old barriers are finally breaking down.
American Football is now doing well across the world with the X-League in Japan and The British American Football League being primary examples.
Australian Rules football is also doing well worldwide.
Rugby seems to be doing well in the US too.
The United States is starting to get Association Football/Soccer and is doing fairly well at getting better at the sport.
The Major League Cricket organisation is also seeming to spur up american experience in the sport.
I know a lot of it has been building for most of the 20th century and I know american football will never be as popular outside america as it is in the nation itself but its just really inspiring to see how we are almost at the point where the entire world is coming together to play all of these great sports. If it wasn`t for all the racism and wars you could almost believe we were all living in harmony based on the sports.
