Who Is your Favorite Black Superhero?

Unfortunately theren't aren't many. Most big superheroes were created when every single one was a WASP. But that doesn't mean that there aren't some really great ones. Maybe besides the heroes that have been changed just so that they can point and say "look we have a guy who's black!" cough*Green Lantern*cough So who is your favorite?

I'm going with Blade. He is such a great character. A guy half vampire who hates what he is, and hates the things that turned him into this monster. But the fact he fights them and hates what he is, is what makes him a hero and not a monster. Plus it's the classic fighting fire with fire. I love it.

Runner up would be Jim Rhodes. War Machine. Because he's everything Iron Man is but more hardcore. Plus who can hate a guy with such an awesome name like War Machine?

And why call them african if they are black? What if they never came from africa?

And before you say anything, consider this, how is the word black offensive if the radical political group, the BLACK Panthers use the word in their name? WTF?

I am sure Dac was just trying to be PC. which is cool. Me i prefer *Black cause if you ever notice anything that looks bad ass/ cool like the Xmen uniforms or what chicks like to go out in is "Black", so i dont mind Black... even though i am more a mocha latte flavor.

I used the word "black" and the term "African American". I know people who prefer both. I thought it was a good question and didn't want to offened anyone.

But back on topic, I can't see how everyone doesn't at least mention Blade. He such a freaken awesome character. Spawn used to be a good one but they really played that character out. My wife doesn't know I'm alive I have to fight against hell, blah, blah, blah, it's way to repetitive.

Blade is cool, but until those flicks came out dude was nothing but a fourth rate character in "Tomb of Dracula" and Spawn.... Man! did i not dig Spawn at all, with the spiderman mask and the Dr. Strange Cape and the chains. How can you fight crime with chains clanging all aound you?!?! I love Luke cause just like Muhammed Ali he is Unapologetic about who he is. A strong bother who is like "what you see is what you get!'Everybody thinks he is all about the cash, but he is so much more.

umm i gotta disagree with you on that Dac Bats was bad ass long before miller got a hold of him and the same with Pun. all miller did was make that dude grimmy and capable of beating the crap outta everybody in the DU.( which i cant stand) outside of the flicks and i have read a couple of blade's comics, they werent that good, but in the flicks Blade is awesome.... and

Luke Cage is pretty good. I also think Black Panther and Prowler are cool, although I havent read too many of their stories.

On the DC side, I think Crispus Allen (the current Spectre) is a great character, although most of the stuff Ive read with him was pre-Spectre, when he was just a cop.

I think Amanda Waller is my favorite black villain, though
