Some of us are fearful of our favorite Spider's not making it thorough the perceived culling. and a lot of the talk centres around those that may or may not be killed of. so i wrote a piece for a blog extolling the Spider-Men and Women who I'd like to see survive stating reasons why they should make it through, some valid some for personal reasons.

if your interested it can be viewed here.

I made this thread as i'd be interested to see which of Spider-Men Women Hams or Monkeys would you most like to see survive.

Does it matter? Whoever dies will just be brought back to life a few years later (unless their name is Ben Reilly :o ).

Anyway, I think most people are worried about MC2's Spider-Girl dying.

There better be a new Anthology book coming out after Spider-Verse is over.
3 or 4 stories per month, and depending on how many live, rotate out the Spiders every other month.
For Example:
Month one - Spider-Gwen - Ben Reilly - Kaine - Random
Month two - Noir - Aaron Aikman - Assasin - Random #2
Month three- Spider-Gwen - Ben Reilly - Kaine - Random #3

Ugh… Spider-Gwen's an actual character?…. That sounds awful. If it was an anthology book with Reilly, Kaine (he'll need one after New Warriors gets cancelled), Noir and maybe MC2 Spider-Girl, that'd be fun. But Spider-Gwen……… ? Lol that sounds like a hilariously awful concept. I'll give it a pass. :o

Read Spider-Gwen!
That's not her character name, that is what us fans call her!
That book was amazing! no pun intended!

Then you'll be the one missing out by giving it a pass, seeing as the book has already gone to 2nd pressing a couple of days after release and has be massively well received.

The point of the thread is for people to share which of the Spider's thet'd like to see come out of the event on the other side. once this is done they'll be no re-boot for AU Spider's some haven't been seen for years and after this the one's that go i doubt you'll ever see again.

As for MC2 May dying. the feeling is it's between her an Anya with the Anya fans fretting more than MAy's

I think the 5 most likely spider-alternates to make a prominent return are

Ben Reilly
Mayday Parker
Miles Morales
Kaine
Spider-man 2099

And of course peter parker will be here too

I am really looking forward to ben reilly's return to comics. If he survives the spider-verse story and has enough positive input from the fans to earn his own book though I think that there is very little chance he'll be joining the ranks of the 616 heroes. I think the story will be set in his own universe. I think this will be the case for two reasons:

1. If Ben leaves his own dimension there will be no spider-hero to defend his home universe while he is away since the Peter Parker of this alternate timeline no longer has his spider powers.

2. Ben Reilly's alternate universe has been largely unexplored so it will be interesting for new and old fans (along with writers) of the character to experience this new version of reilly in a new environment with a fresh set of eyes. What is this universe actually like? How much does it deviate from the 616 clone saga timeline? Does Ben still have blonde hair? Does he work at the Daily Grind? Are villians like Guant, Armada or Mysterio present? How old is Ben Reilly in this universe? I'm sure there are more fans who would like to see these questions answered than anything else that might come out of the conclusion of the Spider-verse arc.

1 - That Peter might have his powers. Pete's Powers kicked in by themselves in the 616.
The only thing is that this Pete never came back to NY.

2 - This Ben is said to have dealt with all that the 616 Pete dealt with.
Though I'm curious to know if he revealed his ID in Civil War and had that erased, or if it stayed common knowledge.
After all, there really is no link between Pete and Ben

No problem. I did speak to Mike Costa on Facebook if there were any long term plans regarding this alternate version of reilly and the possibility of developing the character even further down the road, and basically he gave me the usual spiel. He said that the future of the character rests in the hands of the fans and their support. It wont happen if the books don't sell. Marvel needs to have something more concrete than just a bunch of fans like us to go "whoo hoo" and then disappear into the ether(net). So I'll be buying two copies of each issue that features ben reilly plus the trade paperback when it comes out. And I suggest the rest of you do the same.

Which is why there should be an Anthology Book.

Though with the Incursion some of these Spiders might not have a place to go back to and might get stuck in the 616.

The way that this series is sounding, it makes it sound like they are cleaning out all the other worlds and Spiders in prep for a possible reboot to go along with the Incursion Storyline.

I think they've said that the Spider-Verse mini series "Spider-Verse #1 #2 #3 will be an anthology of sorts

You guys are talking about an Omnibus trade? That would certainly help a lot but I think sales of the initial run are more important. they want to see people buy up the books as they are being published. That is what guarantees a future for a character like Ben Reilly. My advice if your LCS offers some kind of subscription service or pull lists ask them to set aside the spider-verse titles request doubles of specific titles for you that way you are collecting en masse but marvel will also see that people are the most excitied for reilly's return. Does that make sense?

SpiderCide should make his triumphant return during this story!!!!!

They did state during numerous introductions of Ben to Pete's supporting cast, and Pete to Ben's supporting cast that they were "cousins"...

Nooooo not SpiderCide

Why not with SpiderCide? I have always said that if the character was handled correctly he could be really good. A scary arch nemesis for Spider-Man that really is on the same level as the hero.

I think Black Tarantula or the 6 armed doppelganger have more of a shot than Spidercide tbh

Auxillary note: This is kind of on topic to spider-verse but starting next week I will be listing all of my original run of Spider-Girl (Vol. 1 #1-70) on ebay. Prices will start at about $3.50 a piece. If the issues sell I also have my first edition Ultimate Spider-man tpb's for sale the following week. Including a hardcover tbp. If any of you are interested ill embed the links in a signature here so you can bid on them as you wish. It will be a great starting point for those who are looking into starting the spider-verse crossover but aren't familiar with some of the characters who inhabit the alternate universes.

Do you think anyone will really remember that Ben and Pete are cousins? Maybe one or two, but not everyone. And none of the new cast know about him.

Really, what is so bad about SpiderCide?
His arc was great.
He escaped the Chamber after a fight destroyed the lab.
Had no idea who or where he was and went looking for answers.
Found out by accident that he had powers.
Found out that he was Peter and yet was in jail, that someone was messing with him.
Visited the Parker home, then ran into Jackal and was lied and manipulated more and more.

He was okay as the third, amnesiac clone.

When he became Spidercide, a hulking creature who could form like water….. that's when the character got really stupid.
