Who should write a Batman murder mystery?

Max Allan Collins (Road to Perdition, Angel in Black) would be pretty cool.

Rob Thomas, guy who created Veronica Mars. Not sure how he'd do with the characters in the Batman universe, but he can write a hell of a mystery.

The artist should be someone who can get a good dark, raw, noir feel...like maybe Frank Miller or John Romita Jr. Jae Lee would probably be my third choice but only slightly because while his style is dark and shadowy his lines tend to look a bit fluid and otherwordly. Oh, and I just thought of Joe Kubert. As far as writing goes I might want to dip into the world of mystery literature for this one.

Van Sciver had better not come anywhere near a Batman title.

I dig Van Sciver's interpretations of Batman, actually. That's how Batman should look all the time.

But as for the original question...I'd like to see Alan Moore or Grant Morrison do a Batman mystery, with Brian Bolland, Ethan Van Sciver, or Jim Lee on art.
