I have to say I am liking Matsuda animation far more then Timm's at the moment. I mean their Superman, Green Lantern, Robin, Mr. Freeze just look better to me. The only thing I can really say that I think Timm did that looks better is Gotham City. I loved how he made the city look but I think the way Matsuda draws his characters are much better (expect for the Joker).

yeah I agree . ecept for the Joker Matusda succeeds. But Timm got that clasic, comic book feel

Once matsuda sorted out his jaw on bruce wayne, I felt he nailed a much better version of his young self in comparison to tas.

I'm also love his animation style, it is very fluid and the fight scenes (back in matsuda's day) were much better than bruce timm's versions.

let's make a list of comparable characters

bruce wayne (various ages)
batman
alfred
gordon
batgirl (in and out of costume)
babara (older versions, either detective or in wheelchair)
dick grayson as robin (civilian and clothed)
dick graysons parents
joker
mr freeze
future mr freeze
penguin
catwoman
selina kyle
bane
poison ivy
superman
flash
green latern (hal jordon)
jonnz
hawkman
zues
lex luthor
lois lane
jimmy olsen
mirror master
count vertigo
sinestro

I'd also give timm the look on vehicles, his bat-vehicles in the original show were awesome, don't know why he decided to change them and make them crap.

Matsuda's seem more varied. Timm's are pretty uniform.

I'll have to agree with you there I did like Timm's 1940's /50's look.

well I hated the Hal of Timm but I like the younger more comic book like look of Hal and the modern/1950-1960 setting of The Batman

I agree with this. It really brought new life into the series. I think he also redesigned the cowl a little too...made it less of a sphere and actually gave it more features...

Overall, the story and feel of Timm's batman is top-notch
But I favor Matsuda's designs by a wide margin. Matsuda has the art, Timm has the storytelling

I agreed if the crew of dcau, and the batman worked together they would have made good stories

I will say though that if we were to compare stills, even though matsuda's may be better for flowing animation, timm's make some crazy iconic stills. Some of his screen caps of batman are among the most iconic in any media form.
