Of all the characters featured in the MCU so far, which do you think have benefitted the most as far as exposure goes to mainstream audiences; to the point where people actually want to check out stories featuring those characters?

I don't think it's happened yet, but it will on August 1. As of now I'd definitely say Loki. He's become as popular as pretty much any other character (hero) besides Iron Man.

Iron Man by far, though nowadays, comic sales don't get all that much of a boost.

The Big Three plus Loki.

^ Pretty much this.

From my experience as a life-long Thor fan, it's pretty obvious that he has gone from an obscure character despite his mythological sources, to a character that EVERYONE knows a lot about. I teach 6th grade, and my students know exactly who he is and what his deal is, even those who haven't seen the movies. I see him on t-shirts worn by the cool boys and girls; whenever I wear my Thor tie or drink from my Thor water bottle, my students all tell me how cool it is; and I have a few students who come to me every now and then with a picture they drew of Thor, etc. There's never been such a good time to be a Thor fan.

And that's just for Thor. I'd say that IM and Cap have risen even higher.

Poor Hawkeye, though. I'd say he's benefited the least.

Iron Man of course. Thor and Cap have received boosts, but they didn't go from 'isn't he a robot' to everyone's favorite with merchandizing at Spidey/Batman levels.

And the comics don't get affected regardless for anyone.

I'd say Hawkeye and Hulk. Sure everyone knew Hulk, mainly from the TV show, but not enough to where people wanted to read stories about him IMO. Hawkeye I'd say that's because they haven't really explored his character much yet, most only see him as the archer of the group; or as I've heard some say "the Green Arrow of the team."

Black Widow has benefited some too, but I think that's mostly because of who's playing her.

Iron Man but I don't see how that would help his comic book sales since MCU Tony is far more like Ultimate Tony

Loki has been turned into a Fan Girl Favorite

Iron Man. A couple movies have taken him from being yet another zero-exposure character, to being competitive with the likes of Superman and Batman in public appeal, leapfrogging over Spider-man.

Iron Man's success has a lot to do with Robert Downey Jr. I think had Tony Stark been played by someone else, he would not have been successful. The role has also revived his career after all of his personal issues and mediocre box office runs (sans Tropic Thunder) right after he was clean.

Hell, I don't think we would have been talking about him 15 years later when he got into all that trouble with his demons. It's a blessing that we have a long time left of his career now.

Very interesting story. I'd say Iron Man for reasons that have already been mentioned, but I dig your experience as a Thor fan up to now.

IM is the most obvious one. RDJ made IM what he is today

Ultimate Nick Fury also benefited a lot. Same can't be said for 616 Nick.

So many people state "Nick Fury is black!" on the comments section of X-Men: Evolution and Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

That's awesome really,Thor's always been my favourite besides Spider-Man.

Without a doubt, it's Iron Man due to RDJ's talent, wit and charisma. Loki too, to a lesser extent. I also think CATWS in particular did a LOT for Cap, due to Evans' portrayal and his chemistry with Johansson and Mackie. But the clear answer is Iron Man. RDJ took a second tier character and made him a household name.

Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Black Widow and Loki.

Most of the MCU characters have benefited from the exposure.

I would say Iron Man, Loki & Black Widow benefited the most.

Iron Man went from B List to A List superhero and is now one of the most popular superheroes around.

Loki is hugely popular.

Black Widow is now one of the most well known female superheroes thanks to her appearance in films.

Thanks guys.

I think in general, kids are more familiar with comics today than when i was a kid (where I group, at least). People knew Spider-man, the X-men, batman and superman, but that was pretty much it. And it was from cartoons, not comics. But the move to mainstream has really helped EVERYONE.

I do agree that Iron Man has probably shot up the furthest, but even he had his own cartoon in the 90s.
