With all these scientific advancements, are you really telling me that no one has created a machine that can conjure rain all on it's own?

Come on, science. Get it together. :o

Thing I don't get is why not just build a piepline from the ocean in California to areas effected by the drought then try to de-salinate the water in those areas.

I have a solution. I've invented dehydrated water that people can stockpile. All you have to do is add water, and voila!

Haven't you heard? PIPELINES KILL ADORABLE ANIMALS!!1!!1! That's why the U.S. is still dependent on foreign oil! :o

............... how much money would this cost? :o

lots of money

but I'd discount it for impoverished areas

I'm that kind of guy

Because people are idiots and refuse to look beyond their own immediate wants.

That's why I say everyone is an idiot.

Give us some of your water, East Coast. Stop being so damn greedy.

I BLAME YOU FOR THIS, JP!!! :argh:

Desalination is incredibly expensive, Cali has 2 I believe and they still have drought conditions

The Earth only has a set amount of rain.

That's why we need water...

FROM SPACE!!!

Tell NASA to get on that. Just fire down meteors onto Cali, it'll be fine.

I thought this would be about the Hype news drought effecting the Super-Bat Boards. :o

Self-entitled people thinking we have unlimited resources. That's why.

Mostly it's politicians and the farm lobby who are responsible. Seriously. 80% of the water used in California is exempt from this water restriction because it's for farmland that has no right being farmland due to a lack of (naturally avaliable) water. Add to that they have diverted and canaled so much of the existing river systems that most of it doesn't even reach the original destination anymore. They just dry up somewhere along the line.

In fact Los Angeles has a river running straight through it but no one would know because it's drained most of the time and what does exist has been lined with concrete so you just see what looks like another storm drain.

I'd like to add that year round green turf Golf courses in Las Vegas always pissed me off..

That's another exception that goes with farmland because lobbying in a sandtrap isn't fun.

1. Fill buckets with water from the tap at home.
2. Dig a hole, fill it with water, creating a river.
3. ????
4. PROFIT!!

The only thing I worry about is Sawyer threads.

Guess I have to keep an eye out for Sawyer sticking his straw into the Great Lakes.

It's time....
