Seriously why did he?

It's just that looking back it's becoming more curious since capturing him would have inevitably revealed Luke's hiding place meaning no need to hunt down BB-8 no need to interrogate Poe except to find where his mother is...

Seriously it's looking more like he killed LST specifically to PROTECT Luke, he even noticed Finn and did NOTHING!

He immediately knew which Stormtrooper freed Poe, causing Phasma to claim it was Finn's first mistake which it clearly wasn't!

So my question to you is, are you getting a Dark Empire vibe from this?!

Anger. And LST knew Kylo Ren's past before as Ben (Kylo Ren is a "kill the past" character) and the questions he was raising were a problem.

Kylo Ren should have interrogated him.

Also like you bring up, it wasn't the first time Finn rebelled in the canon - he also doesn't fall orders in the Before The Awakening novel and Phasma noticed then.

Maybe Ren knew there was physical map and that Tekka's will was strong enough to resist him.

That aside, Lor San Tekka was pushing Kylo Ren's buttons with the talk of family, etc.

Killing him might not be logical but who says movie character shouldn't make mistakes. ;)

As to noticing Finn, we only see Ren look at Finn but not what he was thinking. I don't think he saw that Finn didn't shoot and think myself that he just sensed something vague about this trooper. When it is late said that a "one of their own" freed the prisoner, it makes sense that Ren can make the conclusion to who it might be - although doesn't Hux name the trooper before Ren said says he knows who it is.

Also Phasma doesn't mention past mistake

Then the mistake is on the part of the author of that book and not the movie. The movies are more canon than the books ;)
