I think a better question would be why do you think americans hate canadians?
Ill never understand why some Canadians think Americans hate them.
I dont get it, I guess I missed the memo on hating a country of people for no(or any) reason.

It's kind of fun to make fun of Candians...sort of like how the British make fun of the French...but for me it's all in good fun. I don't hate Canadians. One of my good friends is Canadian. Canada has also given us Jim Carrey, Mike Myers and Neil Young.
Same here.

I only hate jackcool, that slimy bastard. :cmad:

I've never experienced hatred coming from an American or nothing... though for some reason they STILL insist that we Canadians say "oot and aboot".

*sigh* I'm going to set this straight right now. A Canadian accent isn't "oot and aboot"... it's actually quite close to "oat and aboat", at least out here in Calgary anyways.

To be perfectly honest, in my experience I've noticed that a lot of us Canadians seem to have a large chip on our shoulders; we for some reason think that we're so much better than the Americans because our elected leader isn't ******ed (though recent budget cuts and his stance on the environment are slowly forcing me to envision Mr. Harper with a helmet on).

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that we're all damn proud of the country we live in. Many Americans can't say the same. That being said, wherever I may end up in this world, I'll be proud to call myself Canadian.

Even if I have to pay $8.00 for an imported bottle of Big Rock :)

I believe "oot and aboot" is a maritime thing. I don't think we have accents in southern Ontario.

It's such a big country though, I mean, your Calgarian Canada and my Torontonian Canada are extraordinarily different. French Canada can be like a whole other country.

Speaking of maritime accents, if I see that goddamn commercial for the Nissan X-Trail Bonavista ONE MORE TIME, I SWEAR TO GOD...

lol In my opinion every other country should have a chip on their shoulder because of our president :p

Im proud of my country. Im just not proud of the current government of my country. The American spirit is still alive. Though my idea of the American Spirit is, more than likely, quite different than many others idea but thats one of the best things about America. Our people are diverse which makes our ideas diverse which makes our country diverse which makes whats happening in this country with diversity so heartbreaking.

Keanu Reeves is also Canadian.
I guess he was a junior hockey star in ontario too. From what I've heard he could have gone pro... man that'd be weird, eh?

Speaking as a Bluenoser that is not Maritimer. It's Newfie, I mean Newfoundlander (the "Lord tunderin'" at the end is a give away). The most extreme form possible too, I've never met a Newfie who used all those expressions at once. Still that commercial is funny s***, mostly because even without the subtitles I knew what the sales guy was saying. :daredevil

I still don't get what he's saying about the floorboards, though: "You got the climate control incase you got the mother along with ya...?????... you got the washable floorboards in the back."

What DOES HE SAY???

Yeah, but they've been afraid too since 1812.

Being Canadian i fine by me. Im actually quite proud of it. I like where im from and ive never felt really disliked by anybody because of that fact.
