Why do we automatically click 10 when it's on the main page, but voice our real opinions in the private threads in the forum? I mean for instance, I can't think of a single vote on the main page that hasn't been mostly "10/10" or "Excellent." Spider-man 3 was for example was mostly trashed on the forums, but got 10 on the main page?

So, what's this all about? Are you people subconciously thinking the producers of the film scroll through the main Hype websites (AITCN, CS, SHH) and if something they've done gets a bad review they'd cancel the project and you wouldn't get your beloved characters on screen, but won't bother reading through all the forum? Is that why? Is that it?

Well, if so.. surely you should voice your real opinion on the page so WB and Marvel know when they're going wrong, or when they've gone wrong to ensure the same problems don't happen in the future?

Not necessarily.

It appears that the vast majority of those votes don't come from the fanboy communities in our forums, but rather from lurkers and passersby. We must remember too that there are thousands of users who only go to the front page for the sake of getting news and never step foot on our boards at all.

And I'm sure there are other posters like myself that go directly to the forums and skip the main page. I haven't seen it in months.

Ditto. I only check it if I'm looking for something specific.

Same here... :wow: I find most of what I need in the forums.

I don't think I've been to the mainpage in like three years. :x

Theres a main page? Someone linked me direct to the forums, I never even thought that there might be main page...

Why is this strikingly similar to Ice-man's "Why do most men lie" thread.

But it doesn't involve questionable anatomy references.

The more important question is "Why worry about superhero movie polls?"

I lurked the site for years (being an avid comic geek all my life) and only registered and started posting last year.

Besides it's the people who have complaints that are usually outspoken. Satisfied people generally never say anything.

I can see this getting merged into the,"Why do people make such pointless threads" thread very soon.

Freaking ow.

I think this thread is alot more relevant than 90% of the stuff posted in the Community thread. Seeing as it's actually.. y'know.. ABOUT SHH not Rosie O' Donnell.

Didn't it get mostly 10 here in the forum too?

But yeah, more people go to the main page. More votes + less fanboys = more 10s.

... some insults puzzle me... why would a guy pick something he would enjoy happening as an insult...

Spiderman 3 Rubbed Shoulders!!! nope, just don't get it...

I hung around the mainpage for a year before I found the boards.

i dont lie,If I cant let my choice be heard I put other then explain.

Yes, this has always seemed absurd to me. People say, "That song BLOWS.:down" and I have a hard time thinking of that as bad as I've known so many great girls for whom that is one of their greatest attributes.

However, of course, on reflection it becomes clear that insults along these lines are based in homophobia. All straight men love a girl who sucks/blows, but if a man does, subconciously or otherwise, he is seen as unacceptible, beneath contempt, for taking this role which is perceived as subservient and feminine, and therefore a jeopardization of all the insulter thinks of as "masculine". In our society, this is the worst thing imaginable.

Kind of like, there's some dude. You can call him an ass****, fine. A bastard? Okay, you've obviously got some sort of problem with this dude.
But if you call him a B****? or tell him to suck your ****? LOOK OUT!

If Buttman and Assman post in the same thread does the universe implode?
