Why does everyone talk crap about this series?

Batman Begins > Batman Forever > Batman > Batman 69 > Batman Returns > Batman and Robin

Batman Mask of the Phantasm>Batman Begins>Batman>Batman Forever>Batman Returns>Batman and Robin>Batman 66>Batman serials

Would have been The Shiz! . . . And I would have to say "The New Batman Adventures" or BTAS vol.4 was better than Mask . . . Conroy's Batman still owns all the others. Man I miss JLU

BTAS>MOTP>TNBA

The TNBA season, while superior visually, dropped off in quality because it was more child-directed. Same reason, albeit in a more extreme way, that The Batman sucks.

The series is just not Batman, it doesn't have the feel of it or anything. It is a cheap and horrible anime piece of crap.

Really? TNBA seemed a lot darker than BTAS to me.

Have to agree! I loved the way Batman moved in that season. The animation was alot smoother. I don't care what anybody says . . some of those episodes were not for kids. And man ya just gotta love the utter poke they gave Joel Shuemacher in "Legend of The Dark Knight" episode. And Conroy's voice was so much better. He just got so natural with it.

I like the way Batgirl was done and I just saw this past episode where she meets Robin. Having the Bat Family makes it more interesting.

I already said that it LOOKED better. I was talking about the tone. And while it was illustrated in a darker fashion (what the hell was with that permanently orange sky?), the stories, as a generality, did not have the weight and emotional punch that On Leather Wings or Heart of Ice did. Some of the stories were occasionally dark, I'll admit, but it was rare. And I don't think any of them ever reached the power of the first three seasons.

What was the poke at Schumacher?

The kids run into a kid with a feather boa named Joel in front of a store called Shoemaker. Joel goes up and says that he thinks that Batman has tight rubber armor and the batmobile can go drive up walls. The other kids then tell him to shut up.

Not dark enough, it feels to kiddish and the characters looks are funny to me.
BTAS was good though and more true to Batman.

I "ve been enjoying this thread, but I have never said many of the things I've been quoted as saying. I love Bruce's work on all the previous series and I would bounce ideas off him from time to time. He's a great guy and I've learned a lot from him. I will agree that our show has had it's definate ups and downs and I've commented on that as well. The season that I feel best represents what the show is suppose to be would be season 4, I am proud of it and I can't say that about our previous seasons. I'm proud of the work that the crew did in the previous seasons, but I wasn't really happy with most of the episodes. Anyways, thanks for listening, I just wanted to clear some stuff up, and I commented on my thoughts on the show at http://www.aintitcool.com/node/30239?semperex-search

Thanks for your response! I agree, the show has vastly improved.Keep up the good work! If I may ask, what other characters from the comics would you like to include? Characters like Harvey Dent, Ra's Al Ghul and the Scarecrow are fan favorites as you very well know. I understand the legal reasons for them not appearing but what about the more abstract characters like maybe Mad Hatter,Dr Phosphorus, Calender Man, the Spook. I'd love to see updated, slightly re-imagined versions of them and others. Wasn't there talk about a version of Hush as well?

Any other new characters? By the way, I thought the Everywhere Man was a great concept!

Thanks for popping in Mr. Matsuda, and clearing this mess. Now, for all the a-holes saying that bad stuff, you have to say a word that starts with an "s", and rhymes with "borry".

wow....you do realize that that entire show had a 40s look to it on purpose? i mean the rounded car and building design, the chunky and curved robots, black and white televisions, and a good portion of the clothing was done in an Art Deco style.

Very nice Jono,

I didn't really have much say in the stories until season 4. This season I think the show is very strong, we wanted to make a show for the fans and ourselves. watch it THIS season and tell me what you think.

Why cut The Edge's theme for something resembling the 60's music? That was a bad move.

I just have two questions, just how does it feel to follow up so closely to possibly the greatest TV/movie interpretation of Batman? Does it suck? Does it give the show some thing to strive for? Or do you just think that even if the Batman was as good as the Batman in the Timmverse, it would be a rather unfair comparison considering that they are two different interpretations of Batman.

Also, can we see this scene on the show someday:
