I was not a fan of this film either. I agree with most of what was said. I'm not a hardcore fan so I apoligize if I don't get it but much of this movie didn't fit with how I view Superman.

The addition of Lois' lover and child really ruined it right away for me. Finding out it was Superman's child made it even worse. For me it takes away Superman's purity and he is no longer unique.

Clark seemed to offer nothing as a character.

The suit was ok but still didn't look right. I photoshopped it a little.

I'm a Superman fan, and I liked Superman Returns. Some fans just expected something different I guess.

Not only do he live, Big Blue send a whole island worth of kryptonite into outer space? Mind you a nice chunk of it, is still embedded inside him.

Singerman make up was too thick, he looked very plastic like Michael Jackson.
SR felt like a movie wanting to be a SUPERMAN film.
SR hosed up the film franchise pretty good. (IMHO)
I cannot for the life of me comprehend, how people actually like this film?

the colors in the movie are so bland and boring. from the dull scenery to the monotone clothing on everyone.

and the story plot is not very exciting.

plus, there was too many scenes that dragged out a little too long... Superman took forever to rescue that airplane/spaceshuttle thing. and then Superman was on his way to new Krypton in the sea, but stops and back-tracks because of the earthquake which he has to take care of first before he even ventures off to sea. and then of course the same bullcrap happens with Lois and Richard having to turn their plane around to go back and save Superman. there's just too many unnecessary stalling going on.

also, the movie score wasn't particularly maximized to its potential. they should've used more classic Superman music.

and ofcourse the Superman costume itself was terrible. too damn 1950's retro style. it needs to be updated to a modern style. or one similar to Christopher Reeve's outfit. and that goes for every one in the movie... no more retro 50's style clothing.

and also, the acting of Lois Lane was not the same as what we hoped for her to be. she was boring and she not very appealing to the eye and the heart. Make her look more attractive, and give her some personality.
Brandon Routh also seemed a bit too Clark Kent-ish, even as Superman. He needs to be more Superman-astute. and we need to think of him as Superman first, Clark second. instead of Clark first, Superman second.

Kidding aside,mainly imo is the story was slow and lack of action. I enjoyed personally,but will agree lack of action hurt it some. I thought visually it was good,lot of moving moments,but no real consistency to the story..Overall acting was fine except Lois Lane,thought she was terrible. Roth/spacey did their jobs well and most of supporting cast was fine.

It's Superman, lets put women cut, victoria secret cut maroon panties on him. If anything says "most powerful man in the universe", that is it. under singer's direction. if you watch the documentation, she was hesitate to talk about the superman suit and wanted to talk more about kitty outfits.
