Superman Returns Why Don't Some Superman Fans Like Superman Returns?

Yeah, it was around way before. They were the offical site for Singer and SR with officail video blogs like kongisking was for Jackson and King Kong. And I do remember for a while posters who were against SR in any way were immediately banned from the site. So it isn't a wonder that it is filled with SR lovers.

It wasn't around that long before. The old version was up in May 04, I remember, maybe even sooner. But the new and improved version was launched around July 04. One of his motivations for getting it going was to provide an alternative to SHH which was all about the Welling Wars in those days. It had gotten really nasty around here.

Can someone explain to me why Superman fans seem not to like Superman Returns?

It would take too long to give you a full explanation, so here is the short version;

Singer sucks
Poor casting
Super ****ty script
BORING special effects (all he ever did was lift crap)
No bollocks to explain stuff
Illegitimate kid
Torturously boring Lois and Chief

Just to name a few ..

The real truth is that most Superman fans do indeed like Superman Returns, all of the polls even on this site show more people liked the movie than disliked it.

Someone should make a poll to get a conclusive answer.

In a nutshell, yes.

Just about every post you have made in this forum has been similar to this :woot:
Just offering support to those who share my way of thinking. Can I help it that they articulate themselves better than myself? :oldrazz:

I really hope you are kidding by posting that. I thought Superman Returns was ok, myself but are you forgetting who votes on these polls. The majority of the people who voted on that poll gave it a 10/10. That is completely ridiculous. Even if you think it's a good movie, it has no bearing to receive a 10/10 if you know anything about films. If you head on over to The Rise of the Surfer board, and check out their 'rate' thread, you'll see that the majority actually voted it Above Average, and many even voted it EXCELLENT.

Sorry, but as much as I like this site, a poll on the Hype doesn't hold too much value aside from fanboys.

Heh heh. I really like you.

kakarot sent me a link to a guy doing a fan edit and changing the color and so forth. But the funny thing is when I went to the forum, one guy said "Not another Superman Return's sucks thread." That is just a fan film forum that encompasses all films, but right there. All I have seen is more people *****ing about it then liking it. And usually, the people defending it on other sites seem to have the same name defending it all over the net.

talking about lexlives?
No. Not just him. A lot of them after the film came out. There was a small stretch were people who made negative comments were banned until someone made a stink about it here.

God. I gotta say it is so nice to be here after putting those few guys on my ignore list that should have been on months ago. Hell, a year or two ago. I mean, I still am posting with people whom disagree with me on SR as I do them, but I can have a conversation with them. They aren't stalking me like rabid Singerites having to post to everything I post, jealously defending anything negative said about SR. Kind of nice. Like it should be. People discussing differences, but not being overly emotional to the point of being rediculous about it.

This thread needs more 'I'm not actually ignoring people on my ignore list so I keep talking about them' posts. I agree. It should spread the wealthy 'I can't back up my opinions so much so I think I won't' mentality. :)

The digital double looks way to fake.
The flying shots were left and right, up and down, nothing real creative.
Perry White is all about selling newpapers, no warmth.
Superman is a peeping tom, and is cruel to his dog.
Superman hardly says a word throughout the film.
The Superman suit has hip hugger briefs and a high neckline and a brown cape.
Brandon Routh does a Chris Reeve impersonation.
Kryptonite doesn't kill him anymore, just weakens him.
Young Clark wears glasses.
Superman leaves for five years without notifying anyone in the media about where he's going and will he be coming back.

If Superman saw some guy in the bushes listening in and watching people in their house through a window he'd send that prowler/trespasser/stalker to jail. Now it's alright for Superman to do that in SR?

Yes, because he's not using x-rays to see Lois naked nor he is planning to rob the house nor any other criminal business.

btw, I was laughing about the dog thing.

Completely ridiculous? Yup, it might be...to you and me. But apparently to 259 people, SR deserved a 10 out of 10. I didn't give it that score because I didn't think it deserved a 10 out of 10. But a lot of people did. Who am I to say that their opinion is invalid? Just because I disagree with them? And what is it to you if there are people that like Fantastic Four 2? Does it hurt you in some way to know that they like it? Let people hold there own opinion...whatever that opinion is.

Aside from that, you're right. A poll like this only matters on the Hype and with fanboys. Guess where we are. The Hype. Guess who voted in the poll? Fanboys (and maybe a couple of fangirls). I was under the impression that Qwerty was just asking for a poll to be taken here on the Hype and I simply indicated that a poll has already been taken here.

He may have, we just didn't see that part:oldrazz:

You know what ticks me off. Fricken Singer spent 240 or so million on this movie with little the amount of effects it had, and Transformers, with a hell of a lot more effects, only cost 150 million.

But the producers of "Transformers," Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce, say they have spent only $150 million on "Transformers," and they reckon they got a bargain.

That is a little odd. I guess some folk in Hollywood just manage their money better than others do.

That, and some guys don't just spend money to spend money. Did they really need to fly Singer over to New Zealand to do that crossover Kong/SR blog video. Wasted money. I have a feeling there is a lot of wasted money that we aren't hearing about. And we have that 10 million dolar scene that is languishing in Singer's vault.

Here is what a reviewer said on AICN:

Michael '12 Action set pieces' Bay Denis knows how to use his cash, which makes my mind boggle at how Superman Returns cost 200 mil when this supposedly cost less, yet this seems as big as the LOTR films and doesn't come off as a Will and Grace episode.

I love the "Will and Grace episode" thing.

Ahh, the power of resourcefulness.

Never give Singer and his friends your credit card and tell them to go grocery shopping for you.
