I saw a commercial where Godzilla from the 1998 US movie is shown eating an 18-wheeler full of Doritos. Why use an unsuccessful movie in your ad 8 years after the flick bombed?

Take it back! Eveyone loved that movie. I think everyone loved the soundtrack even more with Puff Daddy's "Come With Me' song where he used Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" for the "beat." Godzilla eating Doritos is a fabulous marketing ploy.

Are you sure? Cuz there's a new Godzilla coming out, and it looks a lot like that shytty one . . .

Yeah . . . they're like rebooting Rawzirra in Japan, or wherever . . .

Because the 98' Godzilla movie still has yet to make it's money back. :)

I dunno. Direct TV is using Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Twister.

They have a thread over at IMDB under the "Godzilla" 1998 movie going here if anyone wants to look at that.

They still put out classic "Guy in Suit" Godzilla flicks there that are hugely successful, so it doesn't make sense that they would ever touch this flick again.

That was a great song. Puff Daddy actually used the background right and made a great song.

Also as an answer to the early question. Godzilla is a world famous character. Everyone knows who he is an because of his notorious appetitie who better to use as a spokesperson for your food. It works well. That evrsion is the newest version maybe it was easier to get a hold of and use than the old Godzilla Im not sure exactly why they'd use that version. I'd most likely have used the updated but still classic style Godzilla from Godzilla 2000.

Hahahaha.

okay, I'm not having much luck here . . . I think Lumberjack accidentally turned on a VHS tape of some shyt he recorded back in '98, and that's how he saw the commercial . . . let me keep looking though

I would not care to view a 'thread' on that site. EVER. I'll be content living in suspense . . .

I'm dissappointed in Tom Morrello for being involved in those Shenanigans . . .
