Why is Hype so slow?

Yesterday was terrible, and I ended up going to another forum because I could barely able to load a thread, much less posting in one. The forum that I visited had no problem whatsoever, but I still like SHH better. Hopefully the lag will be reduced significantly soon, otherwise I'll have to go to another forum since I can't post here anyway.

It's lagging up yesterday and today because of the news that Andrew Garfield has been cast as Spider-Man in the Reboot

Aaaand now my subscribed threads are gone :csad:

Edit: And now they're back! :yay:

well here is a theory, how about making this boards private from any guest or outsider and making them have to register to see these the threads and posts?

oh I agree whole heartedly. There's no "superhero" message board out there that's any where near the level of the hype (I've searched and searched and searched), there's virtually no competition. It's why I love this site, well made, well organized, fun to post at. There's categories and sub forums for every little thing you can think of, it's only downfall is the lag. (Which I assume is because it's the only board on the net that offers what it offers, so EVERYONE across the freaking globe (with this passion) resides here).

and I apologize ComicChick, I shouldn't just assume anything without facts. That's my blunder and I take it back, my bad

yea I suppose

it's just very irritating and I just wish they'd be more enthusiastic about fixing it

They probably don't seem very enthusiastic because they get this 100 times a day. There's actually a whole entire thread in the tech section about this, where they just repeat the same answer over and over because people keep complaining at them. Like another poster said, "It'll get fixed when it gets fixed", and if you can't deal with it then I guess you'll have to find somewhere else to reside.

If HP and whatever other trailers or movies coming out this week (is Airbender seriously a major movie on SHH because it is not... I'm sorry. Maybe Nickelodeon.com) are creating this lag, then we are going to have some serious issue with Thor/Cap/GL coming out next year. Outside of a major casting, this hasn't been a busy week at all compared to other summers. Comic Con is still a month away.

We're not exactly customers though, we don't pay for anything. It's like hotmail free accounts. You can use it for years and they can do what they want and if you don't like it then what? Get used to it or try and get them to change for you. Now SHH has it better as we can actually contact the people higher up directly instead of waiting for emails to not get responded to and we can spam them with messages until we`re banned but in the end it`ll be fixed when it`s fixed.

Tech is truly working on this, and I can assure you your frustration doesn't come near the mods frustration trying to mod with this lag.

Can't even imagine how long they had to wait to merge these threads together

7 minutes and 53 seconds...

On Saturday, July 3, 2004 at 1:55AM, I was on SuperHeroHype.com discussing Spider-Man.

On Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 1:55AM, I was on SuperHeroHype.com discussing Spider-Man.

Difference: In 2004, the servers actually worked.

*Sigh* I hate this lag again...can barely get through just browsing a thread without waiting 5 minutes for the page to load.

You might want to run a virus check. Today every once and a while the URL is coming up with garbage numbers at the end of it just like the last time the board had a virus.

yea, I'm going to have to say this is virus related. Honestly, it's been more than a week and it's still horrible, I'm almost through with this board. This is just damn ridiculous

The Hype lag has been frustrating to say the least. Any word on when the problem will be rectified? Also I can't say that I am sure the problem is virus related. If that were the case wouldn't our computers be infected too?

its bad. i hope you will fix it because SHH is a good forum to talk about summer movies and comic book movies.

^and I would hate for this site to lose a bulk of its members due to something trivial like this

but I'm packing my bags, ready to head out the door

AndThePickles said earlier how she doesn't even bother to post anymore. Well, I'm on the same boat. SHH has had lag problems since 2007. I'm surprised people still stick around. That's how loyal we are. But...eventually...people are just gonna give up. This was a big week. A new Spider-Man was announced, Spider-Man 2's record wasn't broken by Twilight, and The Last Airbender was a disaster. Lots to discuss. And it didn't happen.
