Why is Hype so slow?

I've gotten the "database error" page so many times now that the little thumbnail thing on my Google Chrome startup page that usually says "Superherohype Forums" now says "Database Error".

The site had a corrupt database. Some blame it on underpowered servers. Others point to the forces of evil. In any event it's been repaired and it took hours because there's 30GB of data with zillions of columns and rows that had to be scanned. Plans are being made to migrate the site to a more powerful server platform. In the meantime, some database intensive features have been disabled in case the forces of evil weren't responsible for the database corruption.

dude thanks...this place was becoming really difficult to access over the past few months...When the site went inactive last night I had to see if SHH was still alive today

I hope the site gets that powerful server, because I remember the user activity was so insane when I first joined here back in 2004-05, especially in the Community forum

Man I couldnt post last night so I was all on Wikipedia submitting false information about how the 7 ancient wonders of the world were actually things created by aliens, all of which were promptly removed, but still I was so bored. Thanks for getting the site up and running guys, I still say if there is a place to help donate for a new Server i will glady donate a couple of buck, and by that i mean $20.
