Why isn't there a town or city district devoted to fanboy culture?

Gays have parts of San Francisco, hipsters have The Village, so what about a town or city district devoted to fanboys?

and what would it be like? Would any of you consider living there?

What, like, a city with comic book stores and movie renting shops at every corner? That'd be... interesting. What would we have for food?

Because Gotham City isn't a real place. :o

So if every day was like a city wide comic-con...

would that be heaven or a personal hell?

There already is. "Electric town" or Akihabara in Tokyo, where people dress as anime characters and there's video game arcades, internet cafes, comic and hobby stores on every corner.

So there you go. /end thread.

No, but a place where people aren't Japanese.

Also, the Village sucked before hipsters and it'll suck well afterwards.

Most of us can't speak Japanese or live in Japan.

What about Austin, Texas?

What kind of people mostly live there?

I only know from the movie "Slackers". :o

Great movie btw.

The closest I've ever been to such a place is Universal Studios Island of Adventure

I'd be willing to live here.

It's awesome. The Spider-man ride is really fun and it's recently been updated. They also have a nice comic book shop .

Well we could have themed diner's.

I'm also seeing bars with chess tables instead of pool tables, top trumps or trading card games instead of poker, internet cafe's dedicated to world of warcraft, sci-fi themed costume shops, cinemas that do special screenings of classic sci-fi and fantasy films etc etc.

Could be awesome :p
