Why isn't there a town or city district devoted to fanboy culture?

It's awesome. The Spider-man ride is really fun and it's recently been updated. They also have a nice comic book shop .

It's pretty good but I like the Hulk Rollercoaster the most.

The Doom ride would be better if it was longer, and the Storm ride is kind of lame. They need another big Superhero Ride IMO. But we got our picture with Cyclops, Spider-Man and Doom though. :)

That section and the Harry Potter section were the ones I was most looking forward to seeing. I still enjoyed the rest though but I would avoid the Popeye water ride until the end of the day unless you enjoy waling around soaked to the bone all day.

This whole thread is worthy of that.

Why should geeks segregate themselves when we're fully accepted within our culture. Everyone is a geek, whether they like to admit it or not. If we WE'RE to build a city or town based on geek culture, it would be the size of... hmm... the whole frickin' world.

Gays have segregated ourselves because we don't feel like getting looks or getting heckled when we walk down the street holding the hand of the person we love.

^ I agree. City districts don't tend to become homosexual or black (for example) by choice. Those people tend to be forced into those areas by a majority interested in segregating them from mainstream society. Geeks, nerds and fanboys can freely walk amongst the masses.

Would you guys really wanna live in a city full of geeks? The hype is bad enough. :o

If the hype is bad, then hypsters (mods and members) say certain areas are dangerous to access, then....

If they could integrate some of the DC superhero stuff from Six Flags , that would be perfect. I really enjoy the Batman ride.

I haven't been back to universal in a few years but my main motivation is the Harry Potter section.

Ah man, if you haven't seen the HP section you are in for a treat. We went in January during the slow time but it was still kind of busy but we rode on HP and the Forbidden Journey and the Dragon Challenge several times. Both were kick ass. You can ride the Flight of the Hippogriff if you are bored and at least want to ride it once but I would skip if you are busy. The biggest treat is being in Hogsmeade and buying treats from Honeydukes, getting your own wand from Olliviander (my daughter got chosen from the group), and eating at the Three Broomsticks just closes the deal.

Imagine Batman and Hulk fans meeting in actual reality, and letting those arguments play out in the streets. It would be worse than Iraq, except now you'd be dying around 72 virgins, instead of waking up in Heaven to them.

Well we could have themed diner's.

I'm also seeing bars with chess tables instead of pool tables, top trumps or trading card games instead of poker, internet cafe's dedicated to world of warcraft, sci-fi themed costume shops, cinemas that do special screenings of classic sci-fi and fantasy films etc etc.

Could be awesome :p

You say every town and city is geared to geeks but many would be lucky to have a single comic book shop. How many streets in your town or city is designated to nothing but geek obsessions let alone an entire district??

I'm not talking about having a token comic book store, hot topic, and a suncoast video in a 30-mile radius. We're talking about an entire district packed with dozens and dozens establishments directed at geeky interest both public and private.

- A library with nothing but graphic novels and manga.

- A tailor store that does nothing but cosplay and geeky T-shirt request.

- A movie theater that just screens classic superhero, sci-fi and fantasy movies 24/7.

- A vintage video game shop (nintendo/SNES/genesis/playstation).

- An art museum designated to pop art.

- A comic book warehouse were you can find almost any comic book ever made in the last 30 years.

- A strip club where the women (or men?) do cosplay.

- A popular shawarma resturant :im:

- A jedi temple (”church” and charity)

AND THAT'S JUST A SINGLE BLOCK! :woot:

In the words of Tom Hardy in Inception: "You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."

Absolutely. What fanboys need is to detach themselves from reality.
