Why Would A Woman Take Off Her Shoes

While reading Eggy's tale, I imagined the woman leaping out of her 2" heeled shoes in front of the bus. It looked like a Michael Bay shot, slow motion with a rotating camera for a full suicide shot effect. It looked sad and poetic at the same time.

Whereas in real life it was probably short, brutal and horrifying.

Maybe she has tried to kill herself before, and failed. If they were expensive shoes and she was expecting to fail she wouldn't want to get her shoes mangled. A nice pair of heels can be expensive these days!

I like the answers about an action to prepare herself though. Like diving into deep water she has to remove her shoes first, then take the plunge.

It's quite a poetic and sad image, shoes on the sidewalk - out of focus panicked action in the background. It could be the next Will Smith movie.
