Women seem to love being barefoot more than men. I wonder if feminists fight this by wearing socks more often? Socks while pregnant would be some serious progression.

Don't wear shoes at home indoors, but usually wear slippers or sandals depending on the time of year. It's too uncomfortable to wear shoes and too dirty. I don't wear jeans indoors either but usually sweat pants, as jeans are far too stiff and not comfy at all.

The big question though is whether you wear shoes in someone else's home if you go there for a party. If it's a small dinner or gathering, I sometimes see the host telling people to remove their shoes, but if it's a big house party I have NEVER seen people taking them off or the host even asking them to do that, and I've been to a lot of house parties. So you can get hundreds of people walking around in a house with their shoes on, going in your bathroom, toilet and everywhere else.

I misread the poll question and meant to vote yes. I never wear my shoes inside my house.

Keep the socks on, take the shoes off.

Then my socks get dirty and wear out quicker.

The thing is that I work out of my home in the basement and it gets cold down there. One thing I hate is cold feet so I just leave my shoes on.

No biggie. I'm perfectly content to be in the minority on this poll.

I usually go barefoot when I can. I just find it a lot more comfortable.

Off. Always off.

And I was not fooled by the funky poll wording. haha!

I voted wrong, I meant yes, I'm brown as well.

I never wear shoes inside. I'm barefoot at home but I have socks on of course if I'm in someone else's house.

Always off.

I used to think that Americans kept their shoes on inside the house, but then I realized that the only reason I thought that was because in movies, the characters always have their shoes on.

Damn you, Hollywood!

Well, it might happen too when guests go to someone else's house. When I go to other people's houses, I frequently see the guests keeping their own shoes on, especially if it's quite a large gathering.

The owner might not wear shoes when no-one else is around though.

This is one of those "sometimes or no" questions, it's not a "yes or no". You either NEVER wear shoes inside, or you do for short periods depending on the situation.

Also, there's dirt and stuff everywhere, so if it's a "you're tracking all that crud across your house" concern, just watch where you're walking more. Personally, I try to avoid stepping in mud and dog crap.

The BvS threads are now... Shoeless.

Depends Sometimes I wear shoes. Most times I wear socks. Sometimes Im barefoot. But Im most definitely not one of those "shoes off at the door!" people.

Shoes off. Sometimes slippers if I'm not relaxing around my home.

My girlfriend usually keeps shoes on and there were points where I'd come home from work and she'd be in bed doing homework and her shoes would be on. I thought (still think actually) it's the weirdest thing in the world.

I see it in sitcoms too sometimes. Usually a kid sitting on the bed with shoes on. It baffles me.

I wear my shoes inside if I'm leaving soon or something. And I don't immediately remove them when I enter someone elses house. But I am barefoot at the moment.

I don't usually remove my shoes if I go to someone else's house unless they specifically ask me to. If I see everyone else in shoes, I'll keep mine on.

But in my own house I won't wear shoes. It's too cold to walk around barefoot in winter. Only in summer.

I don't wear socks to sleep though. That would keep me up at night.

Same here :woot: I always thought it was strange when everyone kept their shoes on (even in while lying in bed!) in movies and tv shows, because around my parts no one ever has shoes on inside.
I also don't want to wear shoes more than I have to so I am almost always barefoot at home, unless it's cold and I have to wear socks.

Off of course. Not to keep the floors clean, to keep my toes comfy.

this whole post is exactly the same as me

Aw gee, I even go shoes off outdoors...in the snow...sometimes.

Shoes step on nasty things.
I like to keep the rug clean.

Always off, because then you can slide around the wooden floors in "Risky Business" style... :woot:
