This MIGHT elevate Rollins...but is he ready? Even his promo tonight was shaky at best. And how could it really elevate him? He was on the winning end of the main event of last night's PPV. Sounds like he's already a big deal...and without a team to hide his weaknesses, he could take a tumble down the card.

Really unimpressed at the turn to be honest. I knew one of them was going to do this at some point but the timing makes no sense at all.

wasn't Rollins the one who walked out on his teammates a few months ago when they were teasing a Shield breakup?

I'll say it again - Rollins already proved during the Shield's initial run that he can be an effective heel. He also cut some really solid promos during that time.

In fact, when the Shield debuted I was most worried that Rollins was miscast in a heel stable, but he proved me wrong. Why are we suddenly doubting that again?

If Reigns and Ambrose are looking for a 3rd member, I'd give my left testicle for the 3rd member to be either Sami Zayn or Prince Devitt.

But that'll never happen..

Because most have his promos have been kind of bad. He seems to talk forcefully in place of passionately. He seems unsure of his words.

Eh, I think he's actually pretty solid. He's come so far, I don't worry about that part of it.

I think he's the worst of the 3. Reigns knows his role as the kind of quiet guy (and has shown some ability on the more "charismatic" face promos) and Ambrose is great at what he does. Rollins says something generic, then repeats it louder.

The reason better be he's getting millions of dollars and a john cena amount of title shots. I believe Rollins can be a really good heel, but seriously after what he and the other two did to Evolution, twice, and all the stuff he put his body through in particular to make those two victores happen, this feels stupid. And pretty deflating compared to last night.

Zayn is a loveable everyman face, like Bryan, I don't think he'd fit with the Shield gimmick at all. Devitt on the other hand is ideal and would start with a rocket strapped to his back if he got that role, but finding the same chemistry with a new 3rd guy wont be easy.

This would make sense. The reason Rollins joins Evolution is because he'll be getting the deal Batista WAS going to get. But then they might try to make Batista a face when he comes back...:csad:

So umm...why is Batista leaving this early?

The problem is that we have an injured champ...and hype for Kane to fight him if he returns.

The better idea would be to hold off on the announcement. Then, NEXT week announce that Bryan MUST defend his belt at the PPV against Rollins or forfeit the belt to Rollins that night. Then...if Bryan can't fight...give the belt to Rollins (so Rollins could beat a guy with a broken neck for the belt, or just get it for free)...and then in the main event either Ambrose or Reigns wins MITB.

Easily see them playing the heel turn being that Rollins was "carrying" the team that got him nowhere. Now he's in evolution and triple h can give him title shots, fame, etc.. Easily see this turn being a good thing

I'm thinking the same. Reigns is being seen as the stud and star of the team, Ambrose similarly as a stand out, while Rollins has been the workhorse of the team getting a backseat in comparison to the other two. Something like that.

They could have played that up last night. Something like after Tista got eliminated, Orton and H end up eliminating Reigns and Ambrose. They do the beatdown thing to Rollins instead, and he perseveres and beats both of them.

Jump to tonight, he comes out bragging, then turns. All that amping from last night turns into MEGA heat. Then next week he says he was offered a lucrative deal to join Evolution, and that without him Shield can't possibly beat Evolution. Build up both Reigns and Ambrose like crazy and then split them off later so Reigns has a major triumph at WM31.

Hell, I'd rather Rollins just go renegade because of whatever, without even joining Evolution. As it stands now, he sided with the losers with absolutely no incentive. Stupid.

Here's another possible explanation on the Rollins turn:

Rollins can say that he was always hand-picked by HHH to be the next big thing - he was the first ever NXT champ, a brand that Trips built from the ground up. Even when the Shield was fighting Evolution, HHH said that he was disappointed in their actions because he saw greatness in all of them. Rollins finally saw the light, and realized that to truly be at the top - where he rightfully deserves to be - he knew where he needed to be to take the next step. And it wasn't with a couple of rebels... it was with the 13-time World Champion.

Great...so Rollins quit for an unspecified main event shot in the future...he stabbed his friends in the back for the same deal Batista quit the company over.

First: HOLY ****!

Second: I love it. Really. I, (like most) have been wanting some more unpredictability in the product. I've also seen on sites, blogs, twitter, articles, you name it about people wanting Rollins to get a push. Not the way some wanted it to happen? Maybe. But we get both. And really, I'm happy with it. Rollins is the most complete member: Improved mic work, amazing in-ring ability and marketable look.

Ambrose would've been too predictable because of how many know he can make a natural heel. But he's grown into the face role well. Reigns is over as a face and they want to keep him there. Plus keeping Ambrose with Reigns is smart considering Reigns isn't exactly a master of the mic. I'm loving the reaction based on how NO ONE saw Rollins doing that. It DOES feel out of the blue especially with what happened on Sunday so the explanation next Monday is going to have to make me believe it was the right move.

Right now though there's no denying Rollins plays BOTH a legit heel AND face with his mannerisms. He can afford another heel turn with the possibility of Rollins vs HHH down the line. Plus, I like the idea of a Ambrose/Reigns feud also happening (if at all but I also liked their semi butting of heads during and after the Rumble) The foundation for a feud is there.

HHH made Rollins the first NXT champion and now he's a member of Evolution. Did not see it coming. I'm psyched for next Monday (something I haven't said in a long, long time) Plus this makes the possibility of having Bryan vs Rollins a reality.

Seth Rollins. The new chosen one. :DV:

Just got home from work. Someone catch me up on Raw.
