Ambrose becoming the top heel WWE Champion is going to be a magnificent day for the company. It's going to give them a great boost whether or not they'll need it at the time (and chances are they way things are going they probably will.).

Dean Ambrose=future Paul Heyman guy.

For everyone saying that it was too soon to break up The Shield... where would they have gone following this feud with Evolution?

The point of this stable was always to get these three guys into the main event. They're there right now - if they had kept them together, anything would have been a step down from this feud with Evolution IMO. While I'm not exactly sure where they're going with the explanation on this, I'm completely on board. They need some fresh solo guys in the main event badly right now, and we're going to get that.

Maybe it's because I'm seeing the long term potential of this, but I'm loving the Rollins turn. Of the three Shield guys, Ambrose fits the least as a member of Evolution. So that left Reigns & Rollins - considering that Reigns has been getting over solidly as a face and they're positioning him as the future top guy, it makes no sense to turn him right now. Plus, if anyone is going to make Roman look like a star, it's Seth Rollins.

Finally, I've been saying it since the moment it happened last night, but this is the impetus it's going to take to send Ambrose towards a psychotic break. And oh boy, it's going to be beautiful when it happens & he goes off the deep end. So much potential with the Rollins turn, I love it.

So does Rollins keep his Shield riot gear? Or go back to his old tights? Or will he becoming to the ring in suits now? I'm fine with the heel turn, as he'll be fine and then the eventual face turn down the road will be glorious and he'll be one of if not the top face of the company by that point, along with Bryan, and Reigns. I see the top heels of the future as Ambrose, Cesaro, and Wyatt (I'm sure he'll find a masterful way to get the crowd to turn on him if they cheer too much)

Also who will be the next face to step up and face Rusev? It's been said he wants Rusev to work his way through the upper midcard? Does he annihilate Ziggy next? How long before the inevitable confrontation betwen he and Show?

You've got a point there.

I think it was going to be Rollins to break first anyway. I believe this was teased a while back when Rollins walked on the Shield but then something happened that caused the WWE not to go through with it. I can't remember exactly what it was...I want to say Cena was injured or something...so the next week they retcon it by having Rollins say he walked out to get his brothers back on the same page (he was tired of being the glue is what he said originally). I just remember that it was an akward deal because he walked one week and then they were back at full strength the next week because the WWE didn't have enough babyfaces or something. Does anyone remember that? Maybe I'm confused.

^You're not crazy. They were teasing dissension all the way back at the end of 2013 and through their Elimination Chamber loss to the Wyatts. It was the rematch on Raw with the Wyatts 2 weeks later where Rollins walked out on them, which then led to them coming together after the Shield summit on Smackdown.

As for why they didn't go through with it? I think there's a couple of reasons:

1) I feel that the end game was always Shield vs. Evolution, that was a big marquee matchup that they wanted to happen before Batista left. Also, they wanted to set up the eventual Reigns vs. HHH matchup we still see coming... HHH is going to put him over huge in this story.

2) I think any plans to split up the Shield sooner may have been second-guessed after the Reigns vs. Wyatt match on Raw the night following Elimination Chamber. To me, that match reeked to me of "Let's see if you guys can handle the pressure & keep the crowd involved" - and they fell flat. So any immediate singles push for Roman was scaled back a little bit to protect him & give him some time working singles matches on house shows.

I could be wrong & this was always the plan, but it wouldn't shock me if they intended to split them a little bit sooner.

The other reason they held off on the split was the change in plans for the WWE title and necessity to make it a triple threat, they apparently didn't want two high profile triple threat matches on the one show.

Word. Especially after all the bro moments from Sunday.

Brothers. :(

Kind of a random thought here, but it would be interesting if they could also split up Reigns and Ambrose somehow (without a heel turn, like maybe Reigns gets storyline-injured or something). Ambrose vs. the Authority could be the second coming of an Austin 3:16-type of angle, except that the hero is bat**** insane (which fits better in today's nihilistic times).

Considering Roman's most recent tweet said this:

"Trust is completely dead to me..."

So I'd say there's a possibility of an Ambrose/Reigns split because Roman adapts Stone Cold's DTA (Don't Trust Anybody) philosophy.

Interesting. So I guess in ths scenario, Reigns becomes like the Man With No Name, with a singular focus on revenge against Rollins and HHH. Though that leaves the question of what to do with Ambrose then.

That's the tricky part about this plot development, which I generally like so far. I am interested to see where it goes.

I love the "Why?! Why?!" guy.
That was the Brock Lesnar guy in his "I'm marking out bro" t-shirt :woot:
Rollins being the guy that turned doesn't seem right.
I think that is why it works because it isn't expected. Everyone thought Ambrose would be the first to turn heel again.
The Divas Lockeroom is breathing a sigh of relief that Batista is gone....for the time being.
The Divas can unlock their locker room door again:cwink:
If Reigns and Ambrose are looking for a 3rd member, I'd give my left testicle for the 3rd member to be either Sami Zayn or Prince Devitt.

Zayn doesn't really suit the shield. Corey Graves would of suited the SHIELD when they were a heel stable.

But that'll never happen..

Ambrose wouldn't have scrubbed up too bad in a suit, if he had turned...

Everytime I see new photos with Nikki, for a moment, I think it's for Brazzers.

So, will Damien Sandow impersonate a Game of Thrones character next week?

I think this would setup an Ambrose vs RKO deal while Reigns seeks vengence against HHH & Rollins.
