So I've been going back & rewatching some matches from last year's New Japan G1 Climax... man, that Ibushi vs. Nakamura match from Night 4 is some awesome stuff.

If the rumors are true that WWE is interested in Kota Ibushi, I would be so happy to see it happen.

I'm giving him the WWE name Hideki Nomo Takashi, soon to join forces with Yoshi Tatsu and Nakijma Fuji (The WWE Name I give to KENTA)

Sushi Godzilla, Beni Hana and Hellokitty Toyota.

For everyone saying that it was too soon to break up The Shield... where would they have gone following this feud with Evolution?

The point of this stable was always to get these three guys into the main event. They're there right now - if they had kept them together, anything would have been a step down from this feud with Evolution IMO. While I'm not exactly sure where they're going with the explanation on this, I'm completely on board. They need some fresh solo guys in the main event badly right now, and we're going to get that.

Maybe it's because I'm seeing the long term potential of this, but I'm loving the Rollins turn. Of the three Shield guys, Ambrose fits the least as a member of Evolution. So that left Reigns & Rollins - considering that Reigns has been getting over solidly as a face and they're positioning him as the future top guy, it makes no sense to turn him right now. Plus, if anyone is going to make Roman look like a star, it's Seth Rollins.

Finally, I've been saying it since the moment it happened last night, but this is the impetus it's going to take to send Ambrose towards a psychotic break. And oh boy, it's going to be beautiful when it happens & he goes off the deep end. So much potential with the Rollins turn, I love it.

I always assumed that we would get a 3rd member of Evolution to replace Bye-tista (missed the boat on Sheamus) and they would continue to feud to Summerslam. They want to do a Triple H/Rollins match anyway. I'm guessing now we're possibly getting Ambrose vs Rollins at SS too.

Whatever, there will come a time when these 3 will reunite years down the line like Evolution just did and it will be one of the most memorable moments of all time.

Steph got some hairy arms. :wow:

Lay off the weird supplements babe.

I admit I don't catch NXT as often as I'd like, but are there any young big men right now (aside from Big E and Rusev) that are under contract or in development, and are just waiting for the right opportunity?

Remember that Batista was basically a nobody when he joined Evolution, and the current incarnation could use an enforcer.

I remember Deacon Batista. He was the bodyguard for D-Von Dudley.

I was so depressed when they split the Dudleys up. Stupid Brand Extension...:argh:

There's a few big guys in NXT, but most of them have been featured sparingly. One to note is Colin Cassady, who's partnered with Enzo Amore - dude is 6'10" and can move well for a guy that size.

Some of the other big guys, who currently make sporadic appearances as enhancement talent:
Baron Corbin (former NFL lineman) - 6'8"
Sawyer Fulton (former amateur wrestler) - 6'8"
Braun Stowman (former strongman competitor) - 6'8"
Angelo Dawkins (former amateur wrestler) - 6'5"

Thing is though, there's nobody who has the physique that Batista had in his prime - the closest we saw to it was Mason Ryan, who was just released recently.

Baron Corbin is 6'8 and 275lbs, he could be a good fit.

Big E would actually be ideally suited to be the "new Batista," but if he's mired in a useless feud against Rusev, that takes him off the table sadly.

Unless they keep Big E off TV for a few weeks, let the audience forget that stinker of a feud while letting the Rollins heel turn cement, then bring Big E in as the monster enforcer of Evolution 2.0.

Konnor from the Ascension is a big dude but I don't see them splitting them up any time soon.

I don't even know what hell Angelo Dawkins gimmick is. He dances in the ring dressed liked a hipster at coachella on MDMA.

Sawyer Fulton looks like a dude who will come up to you when your alone in the parking lot at night to ask if the rag he is holding up to your face smells like chloroform

Ok, time for some pie in the sky type of stuff - since I've been on a New Japan kick for the last couple weeks & given some of the happenings in recent months/weeks/days even, I'm revisiting my two day WWE/NJPW dream card.

Bad News Barrett vs. Minoru Suzuki
Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles

Dolph Ziggler vs. Hirooki Goto
-Intermission-
Dean Ambrose/Roman Reigns vs. Bullet Club (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows)
Sheamus vs. Tomohiro Ishii

On another forum I saw a great explanation for Rollins being that he's looking down the road, to him being WWE champ one day. He saw it as either him going the hard way with Shield intact, and H constantly putting brick walls up for him just like he did to Bryan, or he could side with the guy who has all the power and get the title/money/fame in half the time. It opens the door for his match with Bryan down the road with him as a weird, corporate doppelganger to Bryan's underdog, and gives him plenty explanation for now.

The way I see it, Triple H is a corporate raider now, and one of the best ways to overcome a competitor is too recruit its best people, even if they had worked against you in the past. In their past few encounters, Rollins has been the guy to turn the tide against Evolution, so he was the natural recruitment choice.

Rollins is the most intelligent and logical member of the Shield. When Triple H came to him with an offer that was beyond generous, he logically accepted, reasoning that if he refused, the offer would just be made to Reigns and Ambrose, leading to the breakup of the group anyway, but without any net benefit to him.

Rollins could've gotten tired of Reigns being called the leader of the Shield, getting more attention than the others, and may call Reigns arrogant. Reigns had said weeks ago to Evolution, "You will believe in the Shield. And you will believe in me."

- Apparently Evan Bourne’s earlier tweet about being with WWE for 6 years this week led some fans to believe he was gone from the company. Bourne told fans he will be back in the ring soon and tweeted the following:

“Dudes! I’m celebrating my anniversary with WWE. It’s a positive thing. I’m grateful to be with WWE and I can’t wait perform again soon!”

As we’ve noted, Bourne has been cleared to return to the ring for some time now but it’s said that WWE just doesn’t have anything for him yet. It was also reported that before they decided to re-package Tyson Kidd under a mask, which is apparently happening soon, there was talk of putting Kidd in a tag team with Bourne.

- WWE shipped 68,000 units of The Ultimate Warrior’s new DVD in the first two months it was released. The top DVD sales for the first quarter of the year were Goldberg’s most recent DVD, The History of WWE, Warrior’s DVD, Triple H’s most recent DVD and Legends of Mid-South Wrestling.

- In an update from earlier, the new WrestleMania XXX pay-per-view buyrate of 690,000 does include international buys. Before today’s updated number, WWE previously announced around 400,000 pay-per-view buys. This indicates that WrestleMania XXX did around 300,000 international buys, which is about 100,000 less than WrestleMania 29.

- Indie wrestlers Joe Pittman, Paredyse, Marshe Rockett and OVW Heavyweight Champion Jamin Olivencia appeared on RAW this week as Adam Rose’s Rosebuds. Olivencia was signed to a WWE developmental deal several years ago. Women’s wrestlers Scarlett Bordeaux and Seleziya Sparx were also on RAW as Rosebuds this week.

That match won the Japanese wrestling Match of the Year last year and it definitely deserved it. Awesome match.

I know I was definitely tired of Reigns being called the leader of the Shield and getting more attention, so I'm not exactly sad about the current developments.

The Shield was much cooler when it was a group of equals. But honestly, WWE seemed like it was slowly molding them into "Roman Reigns and Friends".

Now Reigns can keep his push, and Rollins has an important role. The only question mark is Dean.

Maybe he'll become more unhinged by what happened.

So now I assume Batista shows back up some time in August to make the save while Evolution is beating down Ambrose/Reigns. That's the biggest drawback of the whole situation.
