WiiU

Hi here, kinda new. I have been looking online for specs about the wii u and I found out it will have a custom ati radeon hd 4890, and the cpu will be based off of a power7 cpu from IBM. Just posting so you guys can look that up because it is five times as powerful as the Xbox 360 and PS3. Also go on youtube and look up review tech usa for more specs and stuff, he doesn't know about the 4890 but he does know about the 4850 and 4770 which are upper-class gpus.

Oh yeah, I have also kinda heard that Mass Effect 3 and Assassin's Creed 3 are going to be on the Wii U along with Darksiders II. The Wii U can actually run Crysis 3 on it at 720 p at medium-high range which is pretty damn good for Nintendo. And if you modify Crysis 3 slightly, the Wii U can run it at 1080 p unlike the Xbox 360 and PS3 which can barely run Crysis 1. and the Wii u is supposedly going to be able to run Unreal Engine Four.

When will Wii U supposedly be available & approximate price point?

I've heard rumors of a Fall release, but nothing concrete.

I was planning to buy a Wii, but since rumors are going around that the Wii U is coming this year & will be backwards compatible, I think i'll wait.

About on par with a high end PS3/360 regarding those graphics. It should be able to pull off more.

GameStop listing points to Wii U launch line up

Pikmin 3 and Wii Fit U said to make "launch window"

By Andy Robinson for CVG UK
A GameStop listing of supposed Wii U launch titles has appeared online.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/viewer.php?mode=article&id=287783 According an image published on Zelda Informer, Nintendo titles such as Pikmin 3, Game & Wario, Wii Fit U and Project P-100 will all make the Wii U's "launch window".
CVG has contacted Nintendo for confirmation. Retailers routinely speculate on release dates, though Gamestop has a history of listing accurate information before it is officially announced.
Third party launch titles aren't specified in the GameStop listing, though games including Assassin's Creed 3, ZombiU, Mass Effect 3 and Batman: Arkham City - Armored Edition are said will be released this "Holiday".
Release info and pricing for Wii U is yet to be officially detailed by Nintendo, though a recent report cited a "senior publishing source" as saying the Wii U price will come in at under £250.
Japanese business paper Nikkei has previously claimed that the console will cost about 30,000 yen, which roughly converts to around £250

Tht looks like the same list that came out at E3. Nin needs to stop beating around the bush and actually announce his stuff.

Yeah, at this point I won't be getting a WiiU AT launch. Far to many AAA games releasing around the same time.

Yeah, it's going to be a while before I get one as well. The only Wii U games that caught my eye are P100 and to a much lesser extent Zombi U.

I'm interest in it... Very interested in it. However, Nintendo dragging their feet doesn't help anything...

Plus look at the games coming out from September - November.

I mean, even the 3DS has loads of games on the way. I can't justify paying 300(maybe) for a system when soooo many games are on the horizon.

I'll definitely be getting one, since I was originally going to get a Wii. Plus, the fact that I've gotten games for the Wii already just sitting there waiting to be played. :csad:

Just a little tidbit about ME3 as a launch title.

EA also revealed that Mass Effect 3http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/142/14235014.html will be a launch title for the Wii U. The Wii U version will pack a digital motion comic similar to the one that accompanied Mass Effect 2 for PS3http://ps3.ign.com/articles/113/1132898p1.html. The comic will allow Wii U players to make choices and build their Shepard's history.

Also, a little more information and demo play of FIFA '13 and Madden as a launch title with details about how they plan to use the GamePad for that franchise.

Losing points here, Wii. Next gen means next gen for a reason.

Kind of worries me that some delevopers still see Nintendo as a kid brother of game consoles.

It has a lot to do with the stigma that Nintendo left with people as being the "casual gamer" console. The developers see and focus on the controller, instead of doing both. That was a problem with Wii, but Nintendo was able to do both, as well as some other developers.

The problem is also with developers. I mean I heard that the reason the Controller Pro is even being utilized is partly due to Nintendo giving in to having it available for CoD because the developers would not bring it to Wii U otherwise. The potential that the controller has for FPS is interesting. I thought that the Wiimote and nunchuck combo was great. I hate playing MW3 with a regular controller. That combo brought the closest to having a mouse and keyboard for me.
