I wonder will Akira Toriyama get his names in the credits in the film or has asked not be credited?

Also I wonder if he would make a cameo, considering Stan Lee has appeared in most Marvel films. I suppose not, because i doubt Fox would want to pay for his flight from Japan to Mexico just for that.

I wish he would...but this thread should probably be in the non-spoiler section

Geez. Ok, I hate Fox just as much as the next person. Yes, they rush their films. Yes, they hire second rate screen writers and directors. Yes, they butcher films for the sake of short running times. Yes, they tend to churn out crap most of the time.

But one thing they are not and have never been is cheap. I just say this because I've been hearing these "LOL Fox is so cheap" jokes for a while now.

Yeah Fox isnt cheap I will agree with that

If he has any pride he would ignor this movie like it were a Direct to DVD movie.

Amen. Well said.

I never said they were cheap, stop putting words in my mouth, I just said that it might not be practical for Fox to fly Toriyama out to Mexico just for a cameo.

sucks, cuz i remember couple years back, when this project was getting together, Toriyama was guna have some part of the production of the movie...

o well.

So does he have nothing to do with this film? Has he asked that his name be taken off the credits?

I don't think he has been contacted for the movie, let alone any type of executive producing type of job. The movie will still say "based on the characters created by Akira Toriyama" but I think thats about it. Seeing as how filming is done I doubt he will appear in a cameo.

Well he has to get some money somewhere, I mean wouldn't Fox have given him money for the rights to the characters in the first place.

Yeah... like 6 years ago! They bought the rights in 2002 I believe and chances are this movie was made right now because their lease on the rights was probably about to expire and so they made the movie to be able to keep them for a bit longer. Same thing happened in the 90s with a low-budget FF movie.

he has to be credited as the creator... otherwise its illegalq

Its not illegal if they don't. If he doesn't get paid it is(assuming its their job to pay him and its really illegial). But you dont have to say stuff was made by so and so unless it was in a contract.
