Does anyone remember a really bad rip-off Knight Rider TV show that came out in the mid-90's called Viper? It was basically a weekly hour long Dodge commercial about a car thief whose memory gets wiped, he gets a new identity, and then is sent to fight crime in a souped-up Viper that could change colors and shape-shift a bit (in other words, it was Knight Rider with a mute Transformer instead of a talking car).

Yeah, one of the things I hate about that show is now they won´t use the Viper as the new KITT in the movie...

With tons of updates, you can make a good action movie out of KR, and i can´t really picture Ferrel as an action hero.
You want Ferrel to be the star in a movie based on a tv show right up his alley?

I certainly agree with you about the Six Million Dollar man, Robo.

Now that's a T.V adaption that should be done seriously (and I hope someday it will).

Was always a fan of the show (and even loved the knock -off 'M.A.C.H.1' which appeared in 2000 A.D).

That has the potential to be cool as all hell.

I wouldn't mind the idea of Farrell if I hadn't seen him ruin Bewitched. After that abomination, I lost any faith in his ability to play new versions of old TV characters.

But Will didn't even play Darrin in the Bewitched movie. He played some self-absorbed *****e actor. The whole reason nobody liked the movie was because it wasn't even a remake of Bewitched; it was a movie about a remake.

In the hands of a good director this could be played staright and still work-I know the car will definately talk in the movie, as non-talking scripts were rejected and the guy behind this is fighting for it.....who knows? Thing is, cars arent seen as "cool" anymore because of environmental issues, and I think that's something the filmmakers will have to consider......

Ferrell would be much better off focusing his creative attention on his own original characters like Ricky Bobby and Ron Burgundy. You want somebody to play Michael Knight, go with James Marsden. Picture Cyclops with a white guy fro' then go from there. Nuff' said.
