Will Forte is The Last Man on Earth

They're making Phil look like way too much of an asshat. Hope they find a way to make him less jerky. It's making me cringe.

It's still up in the air what "Last Man on Earth" means. It could be one of those titles that can be interpreted in multiple ways, like Two And A Half Men or Who's The Boss.

at least he had that moment at the end of the episode. That kinda saved him for me.

Hopefully he improves in the next episodes

Yeah I need more stuff like the end of the latest episode. I'm sure he's not gonna stay this *****ey. Can't wait till next weeks episode.

So I wonder how Boris Kodjoe, Mary Steenburgen and Cleopatra Coleman are going to debut on the show? Will all three be the next people the foursome discover? Or will they just be flashback?

Jason Sudeikis will probably pop up eventually. He was in a picture in the first episode.

Every new character adds alot.

I'm glad they're moving this fast.

They could've added only one character each season and season pushing a bunch of filler episodes on us.

my interest was waning in the show, until the end of the last episode

that's when all my shouts at the tv of the passed 2 episodes for him to "just tell them the f***ing truth!!" came true, and her turning him down anyway was perfect.

it'll be interesting to see what next week's "game changer" will be

Seth MacFarlane recently tweeted he thinks this is the best new show on TV and I would probably agree with him. At least comedy-wise on TV

I think Fresh Off the Boat is better

But honestly all the new comedies have kinda wound down for me. I really liked black-ish, Fresh Off the Boat, and LMOE in the beginning but their recent episodes haven't really moved me.

I hope they improve though

A lesbian couple will show up. Within the half-our episode they will rig up a working water and plumbing system for the whole neighbourhood, set up a commercial-scale farm and connect all the houses to solar batteries.

oh those magical lesbians, lol

On the plus side, they will take Carol out back and put a bullet in her head for using a generator and hairdryers to do her laundry. You have unlimited living space and are in Arizona, FFS.

I still can't get over how great Tom Hanks was in Shawshank Redemption.

My favorite part was when the shawshank is redeemed.

Every time you see Phil start to soften he's just back where he started the next episode. I'm getting tired of what a bastard he is. Needs to be more loveable, less *******. The bizarre goofball thing he was pulling when Carol first showed up was one thing, now he's just painful to watch.

Could not agree more. It's nice to see him redeem himself near the end of most episodes, but the way he acts the entire time getting to that point...

I would be interested in seeing some flashback episodes to gain some insight on what his interactions with other people were like before he became (Nearly) The Last Man on Earth.

I didnt even laugh the most recent 2 episodes. At least I found some humor before.

Im sticking around for this season, but if it doesnt improve I cant see coming back for season 2.

It's weird how well this started and now it's kinda meh to me. And I thought I'd be in the minority but Ive seen other people mirroring what Im saying about the drop in quality.

It's the beard. Should have never shaved that beautiful work of human art.

The fact that the episodes are so short, makes me forgive them many of the problems I may have with the show. I still laugh, there's some good comedic moments, but maybe is because I don't know how long or how are they going to keep this show going. Maybe there's some great Lost-like moment near the end of the season, where everything just changes and makes you see it in a different way.
I don't like that he isn't the last man on Earth, but the way they incorporated the new character made for some truly great moments and they guy is likeable, so there's that too.

Same here.

I don't think it had a drop in quality at all, and I gotta say I'm surprised AND not surprised at the same time (if that makes any sense) to see so many similar comments online.

It has to do with expectations I think. The Last Man On Earth, well, sells you on the idea of Phil being the last man on earth, problem with that is that that premise you can only sustain for pretty much the amount of time they did, or hell in a movie-type length.

Stretch it beyond that, and it would just be boring and repetitive. Forte did say that now he wishes maybe we could have spent more time with Phil & Carol alone, sort of milk every situation a bit more. I do agree that maybe they could have done that with Phil & Carol, but I find the show to be comedy gold from the very beginning.

I get why we see so many complaints because the show was "sold" as something special, but truth is, I think it's just expectations, they undoubtedly know where they're going with this, Phil being an a**hole is just hilarious to me, and he keeps going back & forth btw being a d*** and then trying to redeem himself, I'd say it's all building up to something.

Although I would sure like for it to go into a slasher type of thing, they probably couldn't have Phil whacking Todd for example, it'd be too dark, but I don't know, the show seems ripe for that sort of thing, they shouldn't introduce too many characters though, but it wouldn't surprise me if Phil ends up being alone again at some point, or goes berserk.
