World Will it Make it Past Season 1?

I am very excited for the new Avengers animated series but with Wolverine and The X-Men and Spectacular Spider-Man ending after just 26 episodes each. Should we even be getting too attached?

I hope so. But the fate of Wolverine And The X-men has tempered my expectations. So hopefully it will get the 52 that was reported.

They split the 52 eps and have 26 episode each season only giving it 2 seasons, but the rule of thumb is if it's a good animated series (Wolverine & the Xmen or even Spectacular Spiderman) you'll probably get one (season) and done or split to get 2 seasons. If you're a horrible animated series angry:Transformers Animated-3 seasons, Ninja Turtles-forever) you might make it a stretch run.

"WATXM" was canceled due to Disney's acquisition of Marvel. I am trying to be optimistic here. A better question: will this thread get merged into the other one?

A:EMH is getting a 52 episode order right off the bat, so that will not only ensure two seasons, it will ensure that it gets as many episodes to air as "X-MEN EVOLUTION" did, which was the last Marvel show that lasted 52 episodes. I think before we worry about a third season, we at least hope that the fact that this is the first Marvel show that will last 52 episodes since Bush Jr. was running for re-election isn't lost on some fans, and that the production team fully capitalizes.

If A:EMH got a third season of an additional 26 episodes, though, it would reach 78 episodes and the episode count of the 1990's X-MEN, which stands at 76 circa 1993-1998, would finally be broken in Marvel Animation history. But that's in the future. Assuming another season would come that never did doomed a bit of W&TXM. This show can't muddle around and hope to fix things in season 3. It has to kick *** now. And at least from the trailer, I do genuinely believe it's going to try. The Avengers deserve no less.

so far so good. the micro episodes are good and im not taken back by any changes like i was in wolverine and the x-men. i figure cap will step in and take charge at some point in the show.

Dread, generally I think you put far too much weight in the episode count. For starters its pretty rare for action adventure shows to last that long in the first place. The Bush jr. reference makes no sense to me because I mean for starters DC Animation has not had a show that's been over 52 episodes since JL/JLU. Unless you count Teen Titans. But if you are going to count Teen Titans, then you have to count Super Hero Squad which is getting another 26 episode season.

This for instance is not the conventionally set up series. The micro-episodes are a game-changer. It's almost like if Hasbro had the gumption to do an actual series follow-up to GI JOE: Resolute which was much beloved by fans and hailed as one of the best things to come out of the GI JOE franchise in years. Yet with the transition to the Rise of Cobra brand, Hasbro dumped Resolute like a bad habit despite its popularity. Now Hasbro is pushing Pursuit of Cobra as the new brand and the new series will be Renegades which is most definitely not Resolute.

A good anime series for example doesn't have to reach some magic number of 52 or 78 episodes for me to enjoy it. Tell a good story in the time you have and I think that's fine.

Second Season Tips from Agent_M, Chris Yost from Marvel on The Avengers' creative process:

1) We cover a lot of ground in the 2 seasons, i can't speak to each of the cameos, but you will probably see characters that you will like.

2) Chris Yost: We don't get into it as hardcore as that, but there is definitely an ongoing Avengers story here. We even drop elements into the show that will have a heavy effect on season two.

At the same time, if you just watch a single episode you'll understand things. There's always a threat introduced and the heroes come in and fight against it. Each episode has a beginning middle and end and you can enjoy them one at a time, but if you watch them all you get a bigger story.

The advantage we have over those Marvel Studios movies is, there is going to be at least 52 of our stories. Every week, they can tune in and have a huge adventure. We treated every story we did as if it were a movie. We literally went for it with every episode.

Did I see YELLOWJACKET for season 2?!? YAY!!!!! Love the character and the look.

Disney using this franchise to build bigger and better things makes sense. The live action movie will be beyond huge so why not generate interest now?

As for 52 episodes, this makes me very happy to hear because its been a long time since we've had a good run of a marvel show.

I hope it does. I've been watching this series on Sunday mornings, and I've been loving it so far. It has some really good action, as well as humour, and I'd love to see this show carry on for years.
