I like all of Stephen Sommers movies - Deep Rising, The Mummies, and Van Helsing. He certainly likes monster villains. Is there a chance that he's going to put SERPENTOR and the LA-LA-LA trio in the movie? I hope he doesn't put them in the movie, but I suppose he is the type of director that could pull it off.

You mean COBRA-LA villains right?

I wouldn't put them above it.

Duh, Imhotep is coming back again.
Haven't y'all heard?

I would put Serpentor in simply because of the historical figures it would give access to within the realms of the story. Julius Caesar, Hannibal, Ghengis Kahn, Alexander, and Attila the Hun to name a few.

I originally had an idea to work Cobra-La in but it would have taken more than three movies.

You call yourself a Joe fan?

I'm a writer first and as a writer I like what Cobra La can bring to the G.I. JOE story. The bring a whole new dimension to the mix, literally. A writer could actually incorporate the whole heaven-hell/God-devil thing with Globuluss as the Devil.

The only major change would have to be the name and their battlecry. The name I would simply change to Cobrala and the battlecry would be removed. If our characters aren't going to exclaim 'Yo Joe!' or 'Cobra!' they sure as hell won't be saying 'Cobra La-La-La!!!'

Any opinion you have about GI Joe, the movie, or any mixture of the two is officially null and void.

Well, my opinion shouldn't be null and void because I know for a fact it's the best idea out there.

If you think Cobra-La was a good idea, then you're really off your rocker and shouldn't be allowed near a GI Joe discussion with a 10 foot pole.

COBRACOMMANDER:
I'm not crazy about the idea of this live-action movie focusing on Serpentor and/or being a re-hash of the G.I. JOE cartoon movie, but I only brought Serpentor and La-La co. up, because it is Stephen Sommers - a director of monsters. This G.I. JOE movie may go that route, especially when a PG-13 military vs. terrorist group action movie is aimed at kids. A PG-13 terrorist movie aimed at kids deals with aliens/monsters as the main threat (a la Transformers movie). An R-rated military vs. terrorist movie aimed at adults deals with a variety of governments, shady rogue groups, corporations, corruption, lies, etc...I can't imagine the G.I. JOE movie being that serious.

I wouldn't be surprised if the movie's story follows the three (or 4-part?) series of when Cobra was going around the world, going into sacred areas looking for artifacts in order to resurrect Serpentor. I don't remember what happened, but I could see the movie going that route. All these kid action movies always deal with searching or resurrecting some ultimate evil power. If different factions of Cobra are searching for artifacts all over the world, this means the movie can have a reason for having so many characters. And in the meantime, they can throw in that Storm Shadow vs. Snake Eyes scene. Basically, the G.I. JOE movie could go the exact same route of the new CGI-ed TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES movie...

The Only Way Cobra La Might Work If The Movie Was About The Adventure Team Version Of Gi Joe

COBRACOMMANDER, you don't think G.I. JOE is going to be marketed the same way as TRANSFORMERS was? kids, teens, young adults, and adult g.i. joe fans? I guarantee this movie will be PG-13.

Serpentor and Cobrala should not be implemented until a 5th or 6th movie, if it goes that far. If they wanted to go 8-9 movies they could use G.I. JOE: Above and Beyond as the premise for the series. It would be set in space and involve The Seven Lunnatrix Empires.

Gi Joe Above And Beyond?whats That?

Gi Joe Above And Beyond?whats That?

Well, it's my own original title and a pretty much original story. In the comic books there were seven 'alien' type characters and each represented one of the seven Lunnatix Empires. G.I. JOE, as you may or may not know, has had some space adventures. The premise would be G.I. Joe and Cobra in space against the Seven Lunnatix Empires in an attempt to save humanity.

Granted, it wouldn't be a convensional team of Joes/Cobras for they would be working together.

The team would be no more than ten and more likely about six to eight.

Who are the shoo-ins?
FALCON = people will be hungry for a leader other than Duke and Flint. And
hopefully Duke will be killed off at some point.

ACE = Someone has to fly the shuttle.

STORM SHADOW = people will likely be sick of Snake Eyes so, for the ninja
element who better than Storm Shadow?

COVERGIRL = there will have to be a romantic intrest and since neither
Flint nor Snake Eyes will be in it that leaves Covergirl. Her and Falcon
probably get it on.

ALEXANDER MCMULLEN(Destro's son) = need another villain and he'd be
good as the token black guy.

ROBO-JOE = I think this character would be ideal for a shuttle
mission.

Basically, all the horrid moose-c**k that you tried to forget ever happened, OptimusCannibus (which you probably have smoked way too much of from the sounds of it) wants to bring back. :whatever:

Son, if your actually trying to forget cartoons then you are a bigger p***y than I thought and have lived a far too sheltered existence.

Hardly. The cartoon was what it was. It's not what I want the movie to be like. At all.

The comics were superior to the cartoon in every regard. If anything should be referenced for the movie, it's the comics.

1st of all, from what I read the powers that be already seem to have ruined this possible blockbuster by trying to incorporate many different heroes from GI Joe thru out the years. The reason for this was money. If they used a broad range of characters , the movie would appeal to a wider audience meaning more money. It makes sense from a business standpoint. The movie in general will suffer from trying to hard to incorporate too much, being watered down. But when they said they were including 'Action Man' , a British character and Jason Statham was rumored to play him, that did it for me. Anyone agree?

Cobra-La is....interesting. It's very pulp fiction-y. Which I like. And, hell, it could even be incorperated into the Joe-verse proper (the comics) and I wouldn't mind. But the problem is, having them be related to Cobra just sucks. Cobra rocks on their own, but seem really goofy being Cobra-La's pawns.
