No, it will have no effect, the majority of the people going to see Iron Man will not be comic fans, plus Iron Man is getting huge buzz at comic con, only a small amount of people care about what is happening now in the comic's.
Plus, its a good chance that Tony may in fact be a Skrull, I wouldn't put it past Marvel, they made Tony a Teenager for a year.

No, it will have no effect, the majority of the people going to see Iron Man will not be comic fans, plus Iron Man is getting huge buzz at comic con, only a small amount of people care about what is happening now in the comic's.

Pretty much my feelings on it. The great majority of the audience won't have a clue what's happening in the books. They'll be sold on how the film is being marketed and looks.

I don't know if it will even make that much of a difference in the fan community. I can't stand Tony in the comics right now and I'm excited as hell to see what Favreau has in store.

Tony is not a friggen Skrull. It would completely ruin Civil War, The Fallen Son story, and the other Cap/Iron Man one-shots. Plus why would a Skrull want to shoot Hulk into space? Why would a Skrull want to defend New York and the civilians from Hulk?

I think the cast will have a HUGE influence on the reception of this movie. Everyone involved has either been nominated for multiple Academy awards, or has won an academy award. That is my take on it, cuz that is how I am going in. Everything I have seen so far, specially the response from the ComicCon footage, has been fantastic.

That and i don't follow the comics anymore, but I am actually interested in finding out what is up with that whole Skrull thing.

Yes, but by not much. It's a fact that a number of Marvel fans who hate Iron Man have had intention to boycott the movie and watch The Dark Knight instead. But how many are they? Maybe around 5-6.

But it's more important if Marvel correct the *****ebaggery after the movie. Some satisfied audiences might want to pick up a comic or two of Iron Man. If they still see an obvious *****ebag IM, they'll say "WTF?" and get Playboy mags instead.

Why do all you anti-reg people think everyone is on your side. To me, Cap/Spidey/Daredevil et all are a buch of traitorous goons who deserve to rot in the Negative Zone. Stark is as he always is, the most mature/realistic of all the Marvel superheroes. Not everyone hates the Civil War arc. I for one love it.
