Will we see Dr. Doom in any clips before the movie is released?

"Now...where did I put my keys...."

BTW, as I've not yet seen the first one, I can't say much, but...**** that sucks...

What's up with the arms? If they were armored, the look would be so much better.

That's my biggest problem. I just don't get the rubber arms. Everything else looks pretty good.

. . . but it's so close to the comics designs, why not just use the comics design? The mask in the first one was good. Make some armor that color, put on a hood, cape and tunic and you've got it. What's so hard about that?

It just seems sort of crazy.

I also think it's crazy that everyone (except me) seemed to love the concept art when we saw it, but when thay actually did it, everyone seems to hate it. Maybe that's a clue that no design will look as good in an actual costume as it does on a drawing.

I quite liked the concept art, apart from the miniskirt. But this version is slightly worse (the rubber arms). Can we post the other Doom images now?

Well, "hopefully" tonights the night on Heroes, with fingers crossed that we will see Dr. Doom. Personally, I am really shocked at the backlashing that this "bad" quality pic is getting (even though it looks pretty clear to me)...to me, yes who wouldn't an exact translation of the armor from the comics....but to me, I like the changes...for anyone who has read the F4 comics, Doom has had several changes in armor over the years so just consider this another of his looks. True, the "rubber" arms (not sure what that is exactly) is a bit odd but the essence is there: the cloak and hood, the armored mask, and now picture this design,
flying in the air on the Surfer's board causing destruction in his wake
and you've got a hell of a character. Now let us hope that Fox doesn't butcher Doom's scenes again or more importantly, his dialogue.

I hope someone can get this online ASAP for those of us not in the US:csad:

The rubber arms seem to be the key difference, and my bet is that's a sacrifice they felt they had to make for mobility. They probably didn't want him to move like C3PO.

And that may be the big problem we're having now. We're looking at static images and we would prefer the armored arms, but if we saw screen tests of him moving with the rubber arms and him moving with the armor arms, we may have decided that the rubber arms were an appropriate sacrifice to get the kind of grand gestures and movements we would like from this character.

. . . though, with enough time, effort and money, I'm sure they could have developed appropriate joints in a costume with rigid parts . . . but this project certainly didn't have as much time as ideal, and there's never enough money to do everything.

Agreed 250%.

The TUB-O arms look like smarmy disgusting things. Why couldn't they just stick with what was presented in the concept art and give him the friggin armor? Tim promised he'd have full armor. Now I'm officially scared of what the legs might look like.

*rips Afro out*

I just don't understand why they can't get this right. :cmad:

A possibility: perhaps the arms are Doom's metallic skin, pre-CGI.

Ugh, that's even worse Compi.

There's no musculature shown there...but I wouldn't hold my breath for more CGI.

God, I just dislike it so much. What amplifies the ugliness for me is the goddamn Wonder Womanesque bracelets. If they had simply done the armor this would have been fine--I think the rest of it looks good. And you know what? For some reason this design screams "Studio suit intervention". It's so crystal clear to me--because I KNOW Tim Story knows better than this ****.

*sigh*

I give up.

The concept art didn't look so bad. But they ruined it by using the wrong materials.

- His cloak and hood look like they're leather instead of cloth.
- In all the leaked images so far I couldn't detect a hint of the color green, he's brown instead.
- Rubber arms instead of armor.
- The helmet looked perfect in the first movie. But they had to mess with it. (Hopefully it's just the angle and he'll look better in a officially released image.)

Hopefully we'll get to see a better version of Doom tonight.

Well...at least the hands look cool.

Well notice that the cloaked robe he uses in his confrontation with Surfer in the trailer is a dark green. I think the cloak and hood is dark green but the two obscured images so far prevent us from getting proper lighting.

Also, the mask in the first movie is perfect but remember, Doom's mask have changed over the years in the comics and this one looks pretty sinister to me...I like it.

As for the rubber arms, still up in the air until more is revealed.

I like the Romanesque chestplate, especially with the serpent like gryphon creatures on it....especially since
the book says that he looks at portraits of his ancestors and they were warriors wearing armor and such that this would make sense in the story being told.

I have no problem with the look sans the Play-DOH arms and the cloak coloring.

Let's all remember that Doom has multiple outfits during the movie. I have a feeling this image from the Smallville promo might be a final version of Doom we see. For instance this could be what Doom looks like
caused from taking the power cosmic from the Surfer. This could be "Power Cosmic Doom"
We may still see "tunic" Doom yet at a different part of the movie.

At the worst I hope it's just some makeshift suit or some sort of a halfway point before completing the rest but I mean c'mon.

The breastplate and mask look brown/bronze, the arms like people have said are rubbery looking, the gauntlets are black. It's almost like a bad fusion of the Batman Begins suit and a Roman gladiator outfit.

This seriously better not be "it".

Remember how some thought the Fantasticar was a golden color when it was really silver? Same here, the brown tones are a trick of the light, which is one of the reasons why I have called it a bad photo [also it's very grainy, looks like it was shot off of some one's t.v. screen].

Again, I am willing to wait for something official [or 25 days until the movie comes out].

I have to say I really don't like the design the more I look at it. I actually initially thought this shot was a shot from the '94 unreleased FF movie.

OMG, crappy Doom again. And we can find people that like it!

It is so campy. Doom must be outraged! :doom:

Are those nipples?:wow: Wait a minuet, chessy costumes, nipples...could it be? no, it couldn't, or could it... Is Tim Story really Joel Shumacher in disguise? OH NOES!

Those are not nipples. They are these snakes designs going around his costume.

I hope they don't reveal Doom until the movie. We've seen way too much as it is. But that's just my two cents.
