Will we see this in the movie ?..........(Doom spoiler disscussion)

The recent MTV set report revealed that Doom will steal the Silver Surfer's power cosmic in the movie,so do you think we will see Doom like this ?
And would you want to see it ?......

It would be good if he actually used it and his powers efficiently this time round, cause some real chaos, theres four of them i wanna see some absolute destruction when trying to stop him. With the Surfer thats 5 so i dont mind if Galactus aint even in this one but if Doom does steal the Power Cosmic or whatever I want Carnage.

If we are going to see full fledged Doom in this movie, then I would love to see an image like that. That would be consistent with Doom and it would actually redeem him from the first film.

I knew he was going to steal his powers way before MTV said he would. Once I heard Surfer and Doom were in the same movie, I just knew it.

Back on topic, I would love to see Doom like that. It is a very menacing image. Seeing Doom with this kind of power should be a scary thing.

If the good Doctor looks like "comic book Doom" and has the Power Cosmic, then I want him to make a declaration of war against the world, ordering the United Nations to surrender all power to him, do things like reshape the Statue of Liberty to look like a giant statue of him, challenge the world's military, and of course, get ultimate revenge against that blasted Richards...

So would you have has the SS as the "villain" for the whole first movie and not turn him until the thrid ?

I get the feeling they are gonna do what SM3 is doing and wrap up a lot in one go

Obviously not for the whole film, since he has to regain his humanity to fight Galactus. For the first part of the film until, like in the comics, the FF (The Thing specifically) clobbers him. Then we see him remember his past (They should include Shalla Bal, Zenn La and his origin IMO) and realize that Galactus should be stopped.

So you would include the battle with Galactus as the big finale for this film ?b/c i think that is what they will do before moving SS into his solo movie

What I really hope to see is that the scene play out between the Surfer and Doom in much the same way that it does in the Doomsday arc in the comics, a storyline that plays out after the Galactus trilogy. Jack Kirby had said that he turned to the Bible and came up with Galactus to represent a God-like being. The Silver Surfer becomes a fallen angel when he defies Galactus and sides with the human race. Since his first exposure to the human race focuses on the noblility and the purity of characters like the FF and Alicia, he is completely unprepared for the treachery of Doom, who becomes Kirby's Lucifer. The Silver Surfer is lured to Latveria where Doom tempts him with images of the Cosmos that had been denied to the Surfer once Galactus exiles him to Earth. The Surfer's fall from grace is complete as Doom strips him of the Power Cosmic, a power granted him through God/Galactus.

In the first movie, the scene between Michael Chiklis and Julian McMahon in Reed's lab was the only time I felt we had some inkling of this side of Doom, one of his overlooked "powers" in the comics. In his very next appearance in the FF after his debut in issue #5, Doom is Namor’s Iago as he skillfully stokes the Sub-Mariner’s grudge against the surface world into a blind rage and gains an ally against the FF in the process. It is when Doom appears to be a benefactor that he becomes his most dangerous. As he himself would say, Doom never lies….but he doesn’t exactly reveal his true motives. I would like to see a scene like this play out between the Silver Surfer and Doom in the movie , one where he plays into some weakness of the Surfer. Like in Kirby’s scene in FF#57, he uses the Surfer’s love for the freedom to roam the universe in order to get physically close to the Silver Surfer so that he can syphon off his powers. It's a bit hard to speculate what weakness he could exploit in the movie, other than the Surfer's naiviety to the ways of mankind. The Silver Surfer clearly has his freedom and is still serving as the herald of Galactus in the film so the same trap can't be used on him at this point. I just hope it doesn't involve Sue somehow!

After seeing everyones reaction and their views on what they would like to see...then end result and truth is....that it aint going to happen, they probably waste out (which i really hope they dont, and this could be the ultimate comeback ever), and make it really un-action packed as we like. The thing is that there is Four of them and I wanna see some chaos and damage for them to handle.

Definitely. I can't imagine why they would end this film with only an introduction of Galactus.

I agree. I don't see them stretching this saga into two movies, since FOX will want more money by doing a solo Surfer movie sooner, and they will want to sell new toys for the third movie. I don't think Galactus will arrive until toward the end, but like you said, we are going to get an SM3 like finale in this movie.

Not really. Galactus will be done with special effects and probably a voice over. Why would we know that? This is really nothing visable, and a voice over can be done while the movie is in post-production.

It just dawned on me how the Surfer could regain his humanity for this movie...the first half hour or so could be the Surfer travelling across the world doing whatever he has to prepare the planet for Galactus and then the next thing you know, he is in Latveria and Doom drains his Power Cosmic dry. The majority of the film could show the Surfer realizing that there is good and bad in humanity and that despite attacking them, the F4 step in and show their compassion, especially Susan Richards, and then he realizes that he has made a mistake and that Earth shouldn't be devoured. Meanwhile, newly appointed Emperor of Earth (at least in his mind), Doctor Doom, begins his conquest of the planet.

thats to big,other heros would have to step in and they dont have the budget for that.Awesome though,the statue thing but again i doubt that makes the movie.
